1. Has anyone downloaded the final version?
I downloaded RC3 and was wondering if the build is the same for the final version. My build is 2008052906. They are supposed to be the same.

2. I had downloaded a release candidate.
I uninstalled it and played hell getting stuff back the way it was. I went ahead and bit about 30 minutes ago and just about every add-on had an update. The ones that didn't don't matter anyway. I am impressed......It is a lot faster and feels more stable.

3. It's better

Memory usage was a problem in RC3 (at least for me). The final version works great now.

Oh, and you can download directly from Mozilla now:

5. I had to revert to version 2
For some reason Firefox would freeze on the Yahoo homepage, which is a pain since I use Yahoo mail, and when I signout it goes to the main Yahoo page. Plus, one of my favorite plug ins wouldn't work with 3 (Tab Effect--silly, I know, but I like it).

6. Why is it when I
click on tools>check for updates, I come up with nothing? Shouldn't it find the update or am I being denied.

7. I love it!
Best Firefox ever (and I've been using it since it was Phoenix). I just spent some time upgrading. I'm quite pleased that almost all of my "must have" extensions are already Firefox 3 compatible. The only disappointments were that my favorite theme, iFox, had not been updated nor the Compact Menu 2 extension. For now the Phoenity Modern theme is a decent replacemet for iFox and Personal Menu is a great replacement for Compact Menu 2. And it's true, Firefox 3 uses much less memory, is quite snappy and the new bookmarking system is a joy. Here's a screensnap:

9. I love Firefox 3!
Downloaded it this morning. It's much faster than version 2. I love the "Awesome Bar" and the bookmark tags.

My only complaint ... I miss the "Noia Extreme" theme, which hasn't been updated yet. :(

10. It's ok, seems to cache more.
Edited on Fri Jun-20-08 08:15 PM by djohnson
Yesterday after I posted I had to click refresh on the 'view all' page before I actually saw my post. I never had to do that before.

I wonder if it will happen now as well, or if it was a one time thing.

Anyway, it appears the speed increase is due to a lot more local caching.

Edit: This time it didn't have the refresh problem. However I noticed it's taking 82mb in task manager, seems like a lot. My guess is it's holding a large cache in RAM.
