Thunderbird mail - need help please. |
|
:hi: I've got my old HD on a little black box here. I can view the contents of it and just managed to find my hidden old mail in Thunderbird finally.
My question is this:
How do I manage to get this mail on the computer I am now using so I can read it?
I couldn't find any great answers on this.
As it now stands, I have transferred(copied) the folder containing the mail on to the desktop of the computer I am now using and have renamed it MAIL2.
Please help if you happen to know how I can manage to read it.
Thank you! :)

You can transfer everything manually but Mozbackup worked well for me when I got a new PC.

I really appreciate the help. I'm barely up and running again. Never did get a new laptop. Fired that server effective 7/31/08. ENOUGH.

5. new computer finally!! |
|
:hi:
I got a new computer that actually seems to work! It is a Toshiba Tecra A9 and it has Windows XP Professional installed on it. It seems very good so far. It has a 15.4" matte finish screen and seems to be solidly built best I can tell (much better than a Lenovo, that is for certain FYI).
However, I was not able to recover my mail from Thunderbird on the external hard drive that I have. :( In fact, it crashed my system (luckily, this Toshiba Tecra it came with a recovery disk) and Thunderbird would not stop running after I copied the file for the mail into the new version of Thunderbird. I've noted I was running 1.0 on the old computer and now Thunderbird is at 2.0.0.16. Maybe this is the problem.
I'm thinking I give up at this point re: the old mail in Thunderbird.
At least I have a working computer once again.
Thanks to all of you during this lengthy process!
