Internet Security Software.....What's the best deal?

My Norton expired yesterday and it costs $69 to renew! That seems very pricey to me. I'm wondering if there isn't some other software out there that does the job but costs less. Anyone?

1. If you are just looking for anti virus you can try Avast or AVG.

Both are free for personal use and work well.

4. If you download AVG,

I recommend you disable the link scanner. It eats bandwidth for no really good reason that I can discern. (it checks all available links on the pages you go to to see if danger lurks, but if danger is there and you do go there the anti-spyware and anti-virus you have running with it deals with it.
