something is going wrong here. xp home, firefox, no recent updates or setting changes that I am aware of. Tried normal restart. what else? I may be slow replying as I have other stuff to do today added to whatever is going wrong here.
left click on mouse is causing strange random things to happen. Clicking tabs NOT on the "x" makes them dissapear, but if I click on the page showing sometimes they reappear. now trying to start this post I have the stupid scroll-in-circle icon instead of the normal little arrow and the page was jumping around. (I don't know and need to learn more keyboard, commands obviously) trying to click on file, edit, history, bookmarks, tools, help at the very top was not working - I could see a flash of the menu but it would stay. Instead of page changes when I clicked to post it opened new tabs.
Maybe the mouse is dirty and I will work on that, but thought I would get the question up in case it is something else that one of you knows about.
Oh this seemed to have started last night - I don't remember exactly what happened, but as I was shutting down it asked if I wanted to shut two tabs and I only thought I had one open...??? Now this morning it is all weird.

1. think it was the mouse |

 I haven't actually cleaned it, but it started working fine after a while yesterday. There was a minute of tab issues again this morning, but seems ok now. Probably cat hair, although AVG did pick up a bug this morning for the first time in months.

3. It looks mouse-esque to me. |

Sending bad signal to the mouse port cause weird stuff to happen like Kali describes. If it only happens in Firefox then of course it's a Firefox and not a mouse problem.
