Where can I find pay per click ads to place on my website?

Google Adsense denied my application because their bots think my site is under construction. All hail bots who control our internet economy!!

The thing is, I want it's look to be minimalistic, it's more of a web application, not a blog or a brochure, not filled up with a bunch of stupid word content.

I don't want Google or any other advertising agency to control my site design.

But I do want some ads on my site. Perhaps to fill in some empty space, maybe to make a couple bucks, maybe just a motivator for people to pay to get rid of them. Maybe someone can recommend a particular company or organization that that I can link to directly.

Ads for liberal and progressive businesses and groups would be fine, but I don't want my site to look like a political site. It's not a political site, it's more of a web application that only registered clients can use. The public can't see much beyond the login screen. But I'd like ads for related products (definitely not porn). That's why I'm leaning toward a service that automatically rotates the ads.

Most those services want sites that generate thousands of hits or meet their specifications in some other way. I don't like being controlled.

I am not expecting to make much money, that's not my goal. I've never placed an ad before. Any suggestions?
