1. Check a couple things: |
|
1) Start > Settings > Control Panel > Sound and Audio Devices -- Look around and see if you see anything obvious, like is anything in an "error" state, and if so what?
2) Start > Run > services.msc (type that, then enter) -- scroll down to find "Windows Audio" and see if it is set to "Automatic" and if the services is running (if not, try to start it - right click, select Start)
Report back what you find

For some reason I needed to install Service Pack 3. Go figure...worked like a charm right afteer that.

4. i had to change the BIOS when i put in a new audio card, it was set up on manual.. i just lucked out |
