Help, please! getting iexplore.exe error message upon logging off...
I recall this happening prior to a previous crash.

What are the best, most current ways of fixing this, and preventing it in the future? There are so many sites when I Google this, and it seems they're all selling a product.

It also seems this is an ActiveX problem (I'm an idiot about this stuff, please keep in mind) -- please, suggestions???

Thanks in advance!

1. I switched to Firefox a while ago.
I rarely use IE anymore.

2. What is the exact message?
What version of IE do you have?
Are any other error messages popping up?
Did this problem start after installing M$ security patches or updates?
Have you installed any other new programs lately?

Do you have and use Spybot, Ad-Aware, etc. Anti-virus software? Firewall? Use a Registry Cleaner now and again?
Do disk cleanups? Defrag?

After you get this fixed, seriously conceder downloading and using Firefox. Really.

3. Thank you both. RC....
I seem to get various error messages, but all being an iexplore.exe error.

Actually, I'm always hesitant to download the updates and such, wanting them to go through the working out of the bugs before I download anything.

That said, I did go ahead and download updates and patches; so far, so good.

Oh, and I regularly run Avast and Ad-Aware; no problems there.

HOWEVER, I also downloaded firefox and plan to use that. I just didn't want anything unstable remaining from IE. Hopefully that's okay now.

Thanks again!

4. I have my computer setup to just notify me when the patches and updates are ready.
Then I usually wait a few days to listen for any screams. If things stay quiet, then I download & install them.

Glad to be of help.
