Good software to back up to WD external harddrive? |
|
I got my Western Digital external hard drive. It has a trial program, Memeo Auto Backup, to try. I used it to back up to the external drive, but it was really a nuisance. When I started the computer today it slowed me down. I uninstalled it happily.
I notice the drive is usable without a software backup program, but I would think a good one would make it easier to stay up to date with back-ups.
Memeo is out, I just looked at Acronis True Image, and it's $50. I hear it's good.
Is there a program that you can stop and start, and it will continue to back up the latest files without running in the background all the time?
BTW did I say I hate the way Vista does files..most annoying.

1. Tried free download of Acronis. |

Not bad, but not very user friendly for those who getting their first external drive. Both Memeo and Acronis affected the speed of my computer. Already uninstalled it.
Heck, I can drag and drop and use Send to just as quickly.
I think Acronis would be fine if I really truly needed something to spend $50 dollars on...but WD works just as well without a software program.
