Yet another of my dumb questions about Firefox -- how to clear the address bar
In Firefox the address bar (or url bar) has a little arrow to the right of it. If you click on it, about a half dozen web addresses and titles come up. I would like to clear them. I read on some other forum that you just scroll down to the address you want to delete, and click the delete button. That works, but as soon as I start a new session, the same old addresses are there.

Tool-->Clear Private Data does nothing either.

The addresses that are there range from the useless to the bizarre. I don't know how they got there except that when I installed Firefox it asked if I wanted to migrate in IE history and clicked yes. But I don't know where these cites came from and I can't get rid of them.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

2. I had read that and had no idea they were talking about the same thing
That said, I tried it and it eliminated all the existing 12 addresses. I went back to set it at 2 and the top 2 addresses came back one of which I don't want there.

I really should have asked if there was some way to delete individual entries rather than disable the feature entirely. I guess that would mean editing MaxRichResults whatever the hell that is.

4. Delete just the cookies from those websites and then reboot FF.

Firefox 3:

* Keep my history for at least ... days: Here you can specify how long you want Firefox to remember what pages you have visited. The default is 90 days.

Firefox 3

* Remember what I enter in forms and the search bar: When you enter information in web forms or the search bar in Firefox, that information is saved so that Firefox can give suggestions when you enter information in forms in the future. To stop this behavior, uncheck this option preference.

* Remember what I've downloaded: This option preference controls whether or not past downloads show up in the Downloads window. The Downloads window (accessible from Tools or by pressing CtrlCmd+J CtrlCmd+Y) displays a list of your recent downloads. Downloads options preferences are available in the Main panel.
