Anybody know of a Copy program (like copying the files on a CD to my hard drive?) |
|
Sure... Windows will do it but if the cd/dvd reader can't read a file or 2 on the disk, it quits copying.
I need to copy some Disks (5) but a few files on the disks are corrupted. I want to copy the files on the disks to a folder without haveing (Fucking) XP tell me... "Can't read from the source disk" and quit copying (like an idiot)
Yes XP..I KNOW a few files can't be read so can you please copy all the ones that CAN be read??
 :)

(sorry ... had to)
Can you do it from the DOS shell? I recall having done things like that from a shell that kept failing using Explorer. Just a thought ...

I found this because I was trying to copy a large amount of files from one computer to another. It comes with Windows XP and there is a switch so if it can't copy a file it will continue. You have to do it from the dos prompt, though I believe - or at least that's how I had to do it. I was having the same trouble - it would get to one file it couldn't read and quit.
The other thing I've done, and I couldn't do it in this case cause I was getting errors, is put them all in a zip file, then move them where I wanted, and unzip them.
