Boss is on the road, can download e-mail but can't send? |

Any ideas? She's on an HP with XP, Outlook. Sounds like the DSL provider (Bell Canada) might have some anti-spam stuff that's not recognizing her? Could the fix be as simple as unplugging the DSL connection then plugging it back in again?

1. The "usual" mail host may not recognize her as part of "its" network. |
|
"Usually" mail hosts will download mail to anywhere on the net, but most will only accept incoming mail from hosts that are recognized as part of the network it serves (i.e. the user/password combo is not enough, you have to have a known IP address.) This is an anti-spam measure, among other things. Being on the road, she may have a "foreign" IP.
One solution would be to use the mailhost of the network she is accessing the net through (if it has one and if it will give her a mail account.)
Another is a yahoo or similar webmail account.
But this is all speculation.
