Where do I start? I created an iso CD of Knoppix so I could play around with Linux on my XP box...I ordered a used PC for exclusive Linux tinkering, but it hasn't arrived yet, and I got antsy.
The Knoppix CD worked great, but Windows got upset when I rebooted from the hard drive...to make a long story short, I now have two hard drives that Windows won't recognize because they have Linux MBRs on them...you don't want to know....
Right now, I have Windows runing on an old 4.3G hdd, but it doesn't see the primary slave because it has a Linux MBR on it. BIOS sees it. Windows kind of sees it; it's in the Device manager, but it doesn't have a drive assignment.
Is there a utility, preferably FREE, that I can use to clean that thing up? I'm a little gun-shy at this point regarding FDISK, FIXMBR et al...I was up all night experimenting...all I really want is to clean up that second drive so I can use it for swap space and storage.

1. Just go into the XP Disk Manager |
|
You should be able to delete any unknown partitions from there without trouble.
Right-click on MY COMPUTER Click MANAGE Click DISK MANAGEMENT
If it sees the disk you should be able to delete the partitions from there.

I had always accessed that from the Admin Tools/Start Button, but it wasn't there when I reinstalled the OS. Worked great.
Be seeing you!
