Need help, again win 98
Color, desktop and pictures distorted. The last time it was like this it was running in safe mode and some how I corrected it. Now, windows is in Normal start up, and still no change. Tried everything, which isn't much. I'm far from being dumb with computers. Whats hap'nen?

1. Do you notice any visual problems in other apps?
Is there a chance your monitor settings have been changed?

640X480, slider will not move. Color is at 16(colors), only two options 16 and 2 (black and white).

PS. Pictures look like the one in your post...fuzzy

Did you install anything prior to this problem?

6. Your 'puter may have "lost" the video drivers
Whatever forced you into safe mode may have screwed up your settings. If you know what video card you have you need to find and reinstall the drivers. (The video bios loads first upon bootup- look to the top of your screen for the video card information, unless it's an "integrated" system such as HP or Compaq.)

Right-click on My Computer, then click on Properties. Go to Device Manager and look at the list of installed hardware to see if the video card is still properly installed. If it's there but is not working it will have a yellow question mark beside it or a red X. You may need to uninstall it and reinstall the drivers. If it says something like VGA, you will need to reinstall the drivers.

If you can't discover what card you have, go here: http://www.voodoofiles.com/11892 and download the freeware program and run it. It will tell you exactly what you need to search for.
