does anybody Know of an XP maintenance program.. to keep it together??
i am in dire need of being able to use this Piece of Sh*t.

is there a program that covers all the maintenance problems, or do i have to buy 3 or 4.. if not them please tell me what the 3 or 4 are so i can get this thing un frozen.. it takes forever to do anything..

right now i have dll's missing.. tomorrow it will be something else.

the Norton Systemworks ..WinDoctor.. 'find and fix' program is pretty good for simple things.. but not for others

i am eternally grateful for any help.. thanks

1. What Kind Of .DLL's Are Missing?
Are they from the OS or from installed apps? If they are from apps you should re-install the application. If they are from the OS then I would run "System File Checker" and then re-apply all service-packs and updates developed after the version of your OS was released. As far as maintenance goes, what are you looking for? With the exception of maybe deleting orphaned registry entries, XP has all the maint tools you need built-in. You will also want to download a couple of spyware removal programs to compliment the Microsoft tool. Then I would ditch IE and use Firefox exclusively. The last thing I would leave you with is this: any tool that you can buy at the store has an equivalent program that you can download for free somewhere on the internets.

2. I had a .dll problem and it took me days to figure out
let's see...I traced the problem to WMP, ZA and something else. NVidia. I uninstalled and reinstalled those programs that were affected. It was a ZA update that trashed stuff...
