I have a really stupid question...

I have a Dell Inspiron 5100 running Winblow$ XP. Thanks:)

1. Press the Print Screen button
to capture the whole screen. Press Alt-PrintScreen to capture just the active window. Open a graphics program and select Edit --> Paste, or press Ctrl-v.

3. My screen-snapping needs
are infrequent and simple enough that installing a program for that purpose is not worth the trouble. I can grab a screen, paste it into IrfanView, crop, sharpen, optimize the colors, and save it in under a minute. However, a couple of years ago, I tested a whole clutch of freeware grabbers and found that I liked MWSnap the best. One of the big things going for it is that it's a no-install program, nothing more than the executable gets plopped on your drive.

There is one situation, though, where a screen grabber is necessary, and that's when you want to capture an entire scrolled webpage in your browser. The free Url2Bmp does that nicely (nevermind the name, it can save pngs and jpgs as well). Unfortunately, it only works with IE.

4. Ah, thanks.
I had remembered the Print Screen part, but forgot what to do when nothing happened. I just pasted it into Paint, thanks.:)
