Need help w/digital camera & Windows
At work we have a Kodak Easyshare digital camera and the accompanying software. All I want to do is grab pictures off the camera, batch rename them, batch reduce them and stuff them into files. i.e. House1, House2, House3......and email sized files 1,2,3.

Is there an easy program that will do this without committing me to Photoshop or something else. Using a Mac there is a piece of shareware called GraphicConverter that everbody has used for years that does this faster than fast.

Help?

2. Right
I've used Irfanview for years. It's great, does batch or individual file conversion on just about every graphics format; even does windoze metafiles. I turned a friend on to it who uses all the Adobe stuff at her work but some graphics files Adobe couldn't handle. Irfanview converted them into files she could use without losing anything from the image.

3. If you use XP, you will only need a free MSPowertoy...
...called "Image Resizer".

You can download it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Download your pictures to an empy directory (I call mine PicDump).
Select ALL.
Right click, and the Image Resizer option is displayed in the menu.
Select the size you want, and XP does all the work. You have the option of keeping a copy of the original, or resizing the original.

Select ALL again.
Right click and select "Rename" from the menu.
Type in the new name, and all photos are renamed with a suffix number to separate them.
