My browser seems to have been hijacked

and I get this generic search window instead of the Windows XP search window with my pal Rover. How can I get my doggie back? Thanks in advance and please excuse me if this seems like a dumb question. I'm extremely illiterate.

1. Are you talking abt the window where you search for stuff on your PC?..

If so, click on the Windows Key plus F to bring up the search window.
You should see something in the left hand pane called 'change preferences'. Click on that.One option will be 'with an animated screen character'. If you click on that, a yellow doggie appears.
You then have an option which allows you to change the character to someone other than Rover. I'm not sure whether that's what you are talking about, but that's the only XP pup I know about!
