project/info tracking - online accessible? |
|
I'm look for some advice. Hubby is trying to start his own business (not computers! lol)
We'd like to be able to offer project or other info tracking available to our customers - accessible online. We need something relatively inexpensive and fairly simple.
Is something like MS Project manager suitable for this?

I'm a web developer and need to track the time my team spends on projects. We created an online tool which we use for that.
There is a mySQL database containing clients, staff-members, projects and time entries. The user interface allows projects and tasks to be defined for clients, then tasks to be assigned to staff, then time can be posted against such tasks. Reporting tools allow queries as to what projects/tasks are open, what time has been posted, and what has/has not been billed. It even has an interface to QuickBooks. Coded in ASP, it can be altered to support additional requirements.
Further, there are tools that were created to support the fact that I also operate a small web hosting enterprise. Those tools allow me to manage various aspects of that part of the business.
Anyhow, if you are interested, send me a private message with your contact information and I will arrange for a demonstration.

6. I use an Excel Spreadsheet |

It's certainly not as fancy as Gatt charts, but if you are doing simple plan vs. actual milestones, it works pretty well.
