I need some help.
I downloaded Adobe Photo shop and put many of my pictures I have in that album. Now, I can't open adobe photo shop. I click on the icon and nothing happens. I have tried almost everything that I know, which isn't much, and still no luck. Any ideas?

I run Windows XP

1. Try
rightclicking on the icon, select 'Properties'

under the 'shortcut' tab you'll see a 'find target...' button. click on it. it should open a new window with the location of the application. make sure the shortcut is pointing to the right thing.

Alternatively, right click on one of your picture files and select 'open with photoshop'. See if things work that way.

2. Photshop ain't free!
You can download a tryout of the full program from the Adobe site (or elsewhere) but unless you pay mucho for it, it will expire in 30 days.

If you are just interested in viewing and editing photos, I'd suggest XnView http://www.xnview.com/
This is a free program, so will not expire. It also provides a handy image browser to organise your pictures. You can also make it open files with a .psd extension (photoshop)by going to tools menu, options, associations and ticking all boxes you would like it to open.

3. Do you mean to say Adobe Photoshop ALBUM?
http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshopalbum/main.html

Because Photoshop ALBUM is a completely different program than Photoshop...

4. Thanks for pointing that out
I didn't realize there was such a program.

You still need to pay for it though. If the OP purchased and downloaded PS Album it's worth trying to work out why it won't open. If trial version, I'd imagine that it still expires after 30 days.

5. Task manager ...

Bring up the task manager <CTRL><ATL><DEL> and look at the list of processes running. See if something that looks like photoshop or adobe or something with a name similar to that is already running. Sometimes programs get "stuck" when you try to close them and aren't actually closed, which may prevent another instance of the program opening. I don't know if that's what's happening here, but it's something to check out.
