a night at the races....
Calypso is about 12 weeks old now, and in the clutches of OCD (Obsessive Cat Disorder :) )

she's very focused and single-minded - nothing will distract her once she is in this mode...

over the weekend the "game" was to grab her mousie toy and leap from the bed to the bureau, back to the bed and then leap to the other bureau --- over and over and over and over and over again.....

we had to clean off the bureaus to prevent things from getting knocked off

two nights ago - the game changed to the "Indy 500" -- racing up and down my body ---- over and over and over and over and over again.....
goes on for about 1/2 hour, then she runs out of gas, settles down and sleeps

1. She's a cat, that's her job :)
That's one of the reasons I moved to an apartment with carpet instead of wood floors. The cat tag at 3:00 am was too loud on hardwood :).

2. Kittens are so much fun!
I remember when Lily was a kitten. I bought a unique toy for her at a craft show. It was a lizard-like figure made of styrofoam on a stick and there was a squeaker that you pressed to simulate the noise the animal would make. Lily would play with that thing for hours. I think she thought it was her litter mate. But she wasn't interested unless I was there moving the stick and making the squeaker noise.

This morning I woke up early and I was reading. The 14 year old Lily started playing with the strings on my bookmark. She then proceeded to "kill" the bookmark. It's great when you still see a little kitten in the old cat.

3. Mine has OCD with his water trough!!
He puts his paws in it and splashes the water all over my hardwood floors in the kitchen. 24/7 this goes on, no matter how little water I put in this dish. Forget the water tower, you should see how he drained THAT!

But he's so cute, I always forgive him.
