My cat drools. Does yours?

When she was younger she drooled in dribbles. She's 11 now,
and when she's happy, it seems like buckets. I have to make
sure and not be too close to her when she shakes herself
after. I've gotten many a bat that way.

1. My Molly drools when you rub right on her chin.
She is 7 and it is a fairly recent development. The first time she was rubbing her chin on the edge of the book I was reading. I saw drool hit the page and didn't know the the hell was going on. Then I looked at her and she had this really spaced out look in her eyes. Apparently it felt very good.

2. Molly's beautiful.

My Mina gets that spaced out look in her eyes, too.

I remember one time my mom was combing her with a
flea brush and she was in such heaven her eyes were
mostly closed and she was licking the air with her head
straight out, drooling in rivers.

Apparently she embarrassed herself, because I didn't see
her for nearly three days afterwards.

3. Make sure as they age you get your cat's teeth cleaned
Drooling in excess might be a symptom of bad mouth health. Actually my cat Lucifer died of throat cancer (he was 17) and drooled all the time in the end. Here he is in a precious Christmas photo about 6 months before. I don't mean to bring you down and a lot of cats drool, it's just something to watch.

4. Allie has drooled since she was a kitten ...
but only when she's really happy. Especially when I get home from work & pick her up. Thank God you brought this up - I just thought she was a freak kitty!!

BTW - When I was a little girl, I had a Molly who looked just like the one above!

6. My 1 1/2 year old female drools too when I'm holding her . . .
and petting her. It is what she does when she is happy and content.

8. One does, the other doesn't
They are brother and sister kitties named Hansel and Gretel. Hansel drools occasionally, but he only does it when he's very content, (his teeth are fine, he just had them checked). I don't mind as long as I know he's a happy cat.
