We have been inundated with rescue animals
Our rescue group went from having 42 animals listed on our website Wednesday to 65 listed this morning. We got in two litters of puppies, one with 9 pups and one with 6 pups.

On the plus side, our foster puppy Pepper was adopted last night and we brought a new foster home. He's a beautiful Chow mix, about a year old, and he's an absolute love. He supposedly was an outdoor only dog but he's completely housetrained and is getting along great with our five dogs. That's actually an understatement. The four females are madly in love with him. He's big and sweet and they can't stay away from him. Our 10-year old Cattle Dog male is ok with him as long as Codo leaves Petey's toys alone.

Here's Codo:

Ain't he purty?

5. His face is so soft.
When we first met him he wouldn't come up to us. Now that he's used to us his tail is up and wagging, he's smiling, and he loves to be petted. He even climbed up on the sofa with us for a few minutes last night. He's a great dog.

6. i'm in love with Max!
what a sweetie. Well, they're all beautiful!

I don't understand how dogs like these end up in shelters. They are so sweet and loving -- their former owners are idiots for not recognizing that kind of unconditional love only a doggie best friend could give. I hope each and everyone of them gets adopted to a home where they will be pampered and loved for life!

7. I think there are a lot of animals being given up right now because
people are falling on tough times financially. If a family that had a house loses the house and has to move into an apartment; elderly people who are being forced to go to nursing homes and let Medicare pay because they can no longer afford to have someone come to their home to help them daily. I am seeing this crap around me and it is heartbreaking -

And, yes, there are also asshats who simply don't wish to be bothered with the responsibility of having a real, live dog --

8. I have to say again: You have *the* *coolest* rescue group going!
You took your adoptable cats to a fancy, smancy cat fanciers show and they won ribbons and got adopted to boot --> :wow:

You have trainers work with your dogs so you can assure prospective owners that their temperaments are well known and they know the basics of good doggie manners --> :wow:

I know you can't do obedience training with all of your dogs, but :wow:

9. What a beautiful boy!
Purty? He's gorgeous. Makes me wish I could have a dog (my apartment building allows cats, but not dogs).

I don't think he will have any trouble being adopted!

10. Your description of Quincy is *priceless*

Breed: Poodle Mix
Gender: Male (Scheduled to be Neutered)
DOB: ~8/1/1997

Quincy's mom became ill and had to give him away...

Here's Quincy's general outlook on life: "Are we going in the car? Are we going right now? I want to go! I want to go right now! Where are you going? I want to go with you! Let's go over there! What about over there? Can we go in there? May I follow you there? I just want to sit with you, may I? Over here? How about here? What was that? Let's go see!"

He is a ball of energy ready for an outlet! He's just a HAPPY boy! Give him some attention and some basic training and he'll be good to go! He's absolutely ALIVE!

Quincy would like a home with folks who like high-energy dogs. He'll need lots of play time and walks on the leash to meet more PEOPLE! Fetch would be a great game for him to play!
