FYI: I have found homes for at least 12 kittens and paid myself to Spay
/neuter 6 or 7 females from my yard too, to try and get the population under control.
We also tried very hard to twart and then prosecute a neighbor who kept leaving out bowls of anti-freeze for them.
I also collected their bodies of roughly 18 cats last winter and buried or brought them in for cremation when they turned up dead in mine and neighbors' yards.
Every cat I ever owned was a rescue, i'm living with my 7th and 8th rescues at this point.
so, i would never, ever let my cat breed in an irresponsible maner, although i understand and appreciate your concerns.
:hi:

1. Good for you!
Too bad there are so many creeps who make it necessary to rescue the poor critters in the first place.

2. thanks, i just got a lot of grief for just thinking about letting little
Sweet Pea have a litter. I understand I wasn't clear how responsible 'd be about it, how they would be very wanted kitties.
I just feel lucky not to have the watery eyes, stuffy nose, etc. Plus, the howling is making me insane. Yikes.

3. Kittens are wonderful things.

Please keep them long enough to get them fixed - 5 months old for the girls and right when they're going into heat. Don't trust others to do it. People will still want the cats when they aren't small kittens.

Sorry, I thought I was looking at the other thread on kittens still.

I'm getting 6 cats fixed in the next 3 weeks - 2 per week, all neighborhood homeless cats. Then I'm going to start posting them on petfinder and the du group for my state, and try very hard to find them homes. It's just hard to trust other people when as you have found, so many people abandon animals.

7. I'm sure if you want to breed a pure-bred cat you are entitled to
You've earned that, for godssakes. Why not contact Cat Fancier's Association and find out what you need to do and how much the stud services and medical needs would cost you. You could probably find a forum through them that would give you some insightful advice.

8. You are a special person
to help so many helpless creatures. I have a neighbor who poisons animals w/ anti freeze (including 2 of my dogs years ago and several other household pets). If it takes me the rest of my life, this man will pay for what he has done. Antifreeze poisoning is a horrible painful death. thanks you for all that you do.:yourock:
