Greyhound rescue org needs some help |
|
I'm pretty involved with the group, having adopted 2 greyhounds and fostered a few more, plus the website...
We are having a "guest bartender" event at a local bar/restaurant - tips are being donated to the greyhound org.
We're trying to think of ways of getting more people to attend. Unfortunately the bar/restaurant is small, and the event is in March and you can't count on the weather to cooperate.
the bar does have a small outdoor patio.
My thought is to get ahold of Bob Casey (he's running for Santorum's seat) or one of the other contenders to show up and do a meet/greet - maybe pour a couple of beers. Although the March weather is a concern - we could set up a canopy on the outdoor patio and get local greyhound owners to bring their dogs.
It's a win-win all around - the bar gets free publicity because if Casey or one of the other shows up he/she will attract the local TV stations/newspapers. Other than time - it's free exposure for Casey (or whoever) - and the Greyhound org gets more publicity....
am I blowing smoke up my own butt with this crazy idea?
comments/suggestions etc appreciated

1. No, I think it's a great idea. |

Bob might be busy, you may have better luck with someone running for the house.

2. I mentioned my idea to my partner |
|
she suggested sending out letters to several people running for office - local as well as statewide
I'm going to try to put a letter together today -- I'll post it here to get feedback/suggestions etc...
