This is what happens to 'dead' mice
They get put in the food bowl to 'eat' later...

Sterling is the mighty mouse hunter in our house. Smoke just like to relax...

1. How cute. My cat Peeper (RIP) used to put her toys in her food
bowl, too. Her favorite thing was the cellophane off of cigarette packs. She would play fetch for hours and then put them in her food bowl. Does your cat round up his mice and put them there all at once, or does he do it over time?

2. He does it over the entire day
By the time I wake up in the morning, there are at least 5 of his mice in the bowl. Sometimes there are so many, his food is entirely covered!

4. My late kitty Peewee would put nylons and rubber bands in his
water dish. Very weird fetish!

Oberon presented me with a REAL mouse this morning! How it got in the house....?! It was still alive, so I took Obie outside for him to drop it-but he dropped it inside and it scurried behind a bookcase.Oberon and Puck staked out the bookcase for several hours, but gave up when the mouse stopped scrabbling around behind the furniture. Late in the afternoon I heard squeaking and saw that old clawless Miro had the mouse! I grabbed a hand towel and threw it over the mouse, then took the terrified little creature outside, where it bounded away, probably vowing never to return to THAT house! Such excitement for the housebound kitties; a real live scampering mouse!

That's pretty impressive for the clawless old girl :)

I'm glad you let the mouse go. That was very kind of you :loveya:
