"The Lion Cut" Oh, the felinity!
My neighbor's cat (I've never learned the kitty's name-the neighbors aren't very "neighborly") must have had some mats; he's sporting the "Lion cut" now. The embarrassment seems to have brought about a personality change; I haven't been able to get within 15 feet of him for nine years, and now he's loving any and all attention!

1. You got some great photos of him, Lorien!
He actually looks quite cute without his fur. How long is his fur normally?

2. about as long as Spidey's coat

4. lol-- one of mine-- mango by name...
Edited on Sat Apr-01-06 09:44 PM by mike_c
...has mat issues, like kitty dreadlocks. Oddly, his brother Murphy has the same fine, long hair-- they're both siamese of the long-haired Javanese strain-- and Murphy's never mats, but I pull the mats out of Mango's fur constantly. This almost looks like a viable alternative-- plus Mango has a large ego and abundant attitude, so a new do might bring him down a notch or two.

6. Sterling's lion cut
Sterling got a lion cut a few weeks ago. I noticed the exact same change in him. He LOVES to be petted now and is being an attention hound, when he wasn't that much of one before.

These were taken the day after his cut. I need to take some new photos of him.

7. At least the groomer didn't give him a little puffball
at the tip of his tail! The neighbor's cat looks a bit like a Dr. Seuss character. ;-)

Looking forward to those new pics...:hi:

8. Actually, that is an adorable haircut.
Perhaps the lack of hair makes them chilly and they want the human touch for warmth?
I have heard that the Sphinx cats are very "affectionate" for that very reason.
