My dog is starting to sleep with me now!
My three-year-old black lab/husky mix is one of the sweetest dogs I know. I love her, and it seems obvious that she loves me.

But now she likes to sleep with me. On my bed. Right by my legs. Needless to say, I do not have much leg room.

Am I the only one?

2. My 12 year old dog sleeps on the bed and likes to lean against me too
He is 70 lbs. Think of your dog's butt as the center of the universe, because she thinks it is! They always like to be right in the middle, so with a big dog, you are giving up some space. I am used to it and enjoy it- he only sleeps on the bed during the winter months. He's a long haired dog and would be too hot sleeping next to me in the summer.

3. Pack animals always like to sleep together with the rest of the pack.
My dogs have always slept on the bed with me. I have at one time had 2 cats and 2 dogs on the bed with me. Get a bigger bed. :D

4. just be aware
that this means that you acknowledge that she is your equal. if you want to be the big dawg in your house, you can't let her do that.

5. Well perhaps you can
help me explain how dogs can end up in the middle of the bed without ever actually getting up and moving. I swear my dog levitates, or has the ability to move like an earthworm.

When I slide my arms under her and scoot her over she groans... drama dog :eyes:

6. The incredible size-changing dog!
Both of my dogs sleep on the bed with me, though with the big one we've worked it out that she has to "ask" to come up, and I have to give the okay before she does, so she doesn't pounce on us without warning with her nearly 50 pounds. She can curl up into a tiny ball, but she can also stretch out her long legs and take up almost all the space. More than once I've found myself plastered up against the wall while her royal ladyship is stretched out luxuriantly across the middle of the bed. When it's cold she snuggles right up against me under the covers, though, which is nice. My little guy doesn't like to curl up right against us, because he gets too warm with his long coat, but he always finds a spot for himself too....

7. Hi ih8thegop!
My oldest kitty girl, Angeline, sleeps on top of my head during the winter months. (Good thing it's only in winter - cuz she's a Himalayan Persian and I would be roasting to death any other time of year!) My new baby, S'more, is a rescue kitty and she hopped up on the bed the first night I brought her home :-) She sleeps curled up behind my knees every night! :bounce:

8. My cats sleep on my legs, or between my legs
which incites ALL kinds of tasteless jokes as you can imagine.

The queen size bed gets a little small with 2 adults and two cats. <sigh>

9. Our 70lb standard poodle
sleeps with us all the time, except in summer when it's cooler on the floor. No problemo as long as he stays in the middle.
BWT - today is his birthday (4 years old).

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAVEN !!

10. My wife and I house sat for a friend with two dogs...
Our friend has a black lab and golden retriever that are very spoiled and they both sleep with her at night. So the first night, my wife and I climb into bed and here comes the dogs -- both of them! There was hardly any room for one of us much less both of us. It ended up that one of us would sleep on the couch and one of us would sleep with the dogs. The one that slept with the dogs got very little sleep, as they were always jockeying for position.

11. My baby sleeps with us
but she's not that big; about 40 pounds. There's plenty of room.

We wouldn't have it any other way. :)
