7. She's a rescue mutt.
Edited on Mon Jan-17-05 12:02 PM by sepia_steel
Rhodesian ridgeback + chow and who knows what else. :P She has a spotted tongue and a curly tail (and much smaller than a purebred Ridgeback, though she has the 'mohawk' running down her back). She's very serious about guarding the house but would never hurt anyone. Really playful and hyper and alert. She is only just now starting to sleep a lot like other dogs. :)

I luff her so much. She has the personality of a girly toddler. Sorta needy; very much a princess and very much a baby. :loveya:

8. Thank you!
She thinks she is a cat. She sleeps on the back of the sofa like that.

9. She's really not as big as she looks.
She's afraid of cameras so I have to sneak pictures when she's not expecting. If I do it from too far away she will go in her kennel and hide. lol She's not quite 'big', about 40 pounds. She turned 2 on New Year's. :)

10. Does she have a ridge?
I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix also but he doesn't have the ridge.

Here's Sparky when he was smaller. He's about 105 pounds now.

11. She has a ridge when
Edited on Mon Jan-17-05 12:08 PM by sepia_steel
she's playing/excited, or when she's guarding or scared. When she's scared or alerting us it is HUGE and stands really tall. When she is just happy or excited only on her neck and just before her tail sticks up. But no, it doesn't stay up all the time.

Sparky's a cutie! Reminds me very much of mine when she's laying around. Same body and same wrinkled face. :loveya:

14. I've only seen Sparky's ridge when he is really upset.
And that's pretty rare. He's about the most easy-going dog in the world. He's the alpha dog in the pack and every now and then, he will assert himself and the ridge pops out and it's pretty pronounced. We had no idea he'd get so big and a lot of the growth has come in his third year so watch out! ;)

18. Uh oh!
I hope she doesn't get bigger. :( I can still pick her up and stick her in my lap. I would miss that so much...

16. Thanks for the dog fix
As much as I love cats, someday I'd love to have a dog too. These are all beauties!
