Dachshund for adoption with heartbreaking story
oscar - SPECIAL NEEDS - This little guy needs & deserves the very best of happy & loving homes! He's a beautiful little red shorthaired boy with soft satiny fur. His story is difficult to hear, but needs to be shared so that we can help him find the home of his dreams. Oscar has lost part of his tail & has some bb's in his hide from a not-so-happy life & cruel treatment, in addition, he was apparently hit or run over by a car & has sustained permanent damage that is irreparable. His right hind femur was broken, not given proper if any, health care, the leg has not healed properly, it's amazing this dog can walk. His pelvis was fractured, & he has site specific paralysis to his tail (which cannot wag), & to his anal area (he has minimal if any, control over bowel movements). Oscar has heartworms, & will need to be neutered yet. It is suspected, but cannot be proven because of his paralysis & the time that has passed, that he may have been sexually abused as well. He is only 3 years old, weighs 12 pounds, & is such a happy little guy, that he DESERVES a second chance with a family that will love him despite his handicaps & that will show him the kind of loving home that he has never had. Oscar can walk just fine w/ a limp, & he can run like the wind. His only "issue" is that he will need to wear diapers & have his hinny wiped several times a day so he stays clean & infection free. He's a handsome little guy & so trusting, sweet, very loving, and snuggly. He has adjusted amazingly well to his handicaps & I can tell he is trying hard to regain control of his bowels, he rarely has accidents in the house & lets me know when he wants to go outside. He's good w/ kids as young as six, & does not pay attention to inside cats, but will chase outside cats. Please, if you can offer this boy a home, please contact me as soon as possible.

This is from a Dachshund rescue here in Texas. http://www.ddrtx.org/available_dogs.htm How can someone do this to a helpless animal?

1. That is mild compared to other animal abuses.
I belong to quite a few of the Yahoo animal rescue groups. And you would be appalled at some of the animal abuse.
