Is this cat sick??
She has a white mucous discharge coming from her vagina, but, she is active, has an appetite, regular litter box use. In fact she is more active and friendlier than she has been previously.
She is approximately nine months old, and other than the discharge is a regular cat.
I called the vet, he wants to see her, but we have more pressing things to pay for right now, someone help me out here please.

1. Has she been spayed?
If not, it could be heat or pyometra. If yes, it could be pyometra caused by an ovarian remnant. I don't know your financial situation, so I won't preach to you to get to a vet, but I'll post this link that lets you know how serious it could be, and signs/symptoms to watch for. Good luck! Let us know how she fares!

2. This pretty much describes it
I'll get her to the vet tomorrow, it sounds like they can fix this by spaying. We were going to get it done anyway, we'll just have to move it up.
Thanks for the link.

3. Get her spayed ASAP.
Better to do it now, while she is still feeling OK. She probably has metritis (not very likely to be pyometra at her age, but could happen). Once the surgery is done, she should be fine.

4. Whiskers has a date with the vet
She's going in about two hours, we're going to get her taken care of and remove the baby making equipment.

5. Lol
When I had my first cat, I couldn't figure out why she was acting so weird and rolling around on the floor. (She was 7 months old.) I was worried, I thought she was sick. I took her to the vet. The vet and assistant were laughing their asses off. (I thought a cat had to be a year old to go into heat.)

I was pretty embarrassed. At least you got your answer here and not in front of the vet staff. :)
