Pray for me, we're fostering a Cattle Dog pup
He's about 7 months old and very pretty. We've had him almost two weeks. We'd like to adopt him but we have 5 other dogs and a pretty small house. Also, it's hard to spend one-on-one time with that many dogs.

We already have two other cattle dogs and if you know anything about the breed they are a handful! I haven't been so tired in years.

But he is fun. We've been teaching him to "herd" the big boomer ball we let the other dogs herd. He's catching on fast. And when he holds still he's very sweet and loves snuggles.

1. You are a saint
:-).

This is my first Cattle Dog. Well, he is probably mixed with something. We adopted him from a shelter when he was 8 weeks old and he turned two years old last month.

Murphy is so much fun and loving. He loves the people he loves, but is really wary of strangers and dogs he doesn't know.

Here's Murphy: Please post a pic of your guys.

2. It's a little easier for me to post their Dogster links
Faster any way :)

Petey is our first and is the best dog ever :)

Teddy is the foster.

Tillie was originally my parents' dog but they couldn't handle a cattle dog. So we traded Jessie for Tillie.

Jessie is my buddy and I miss her but she's loving my parents and she gets to herd goats. It gives her a job.

I love the looks of yours. They are very loving animals. They become very attached to their owners and don't really care for anyone else. We took Tillie to training class on Sunday and the trainer gave her the command "come." Tillie looked at us and then very slowly went to the trainer. It was like "If I have to go I will but I don't have to like it."

They're a great breed and I think I'll have cattle dogs as long as I can have a dog.

3. They're all beautiful!
Thanks for posting the pics. Jessie is absolutely gorgeous. What a cool mix.

Murphy has a "sister". Cindy is a Catahoula Leopard (probably mixed)which is also a cattle dog breed. They love chasing each other. Cindy outweighs Murphy by 40 lbs. We got them within one month of each other.

4. You must really be a dog person. The most I ever had was three dogs.

Good luck...and I am sure there is lots of love in that "small" house.

Here is my GSD, Boen with his kitty, Cassie..

6. Cool pic
My dogs have never seen a cat close up. Always on the other side of the fence. My significant other is allergic to cats. I'm afraid the dogs probably wouldn't be nice if they were together. They'd think they were live-action squeak toys.

know when he is getting too rough, but she never uses her claws on him. She just whacks him with her paw.

"live-action squeak toys."
