Anyone here proud cockatiel owners too?? |
|
I have 4 cockatiels! It is a handful somedays. I also have a cat, and she loves to watch the birds, I'm sure that she would love to eat them too! My birds are my babies! I love them so much, they have brought so much joy in my life! Tweety was our first. 5 year old, normal grey female. We got her from some friends who didn't want to take care of her anymore. General was our second. 1 year old, dirty face pied male. He's our talker! He says "Whatcha doin?", "Pretty tweety bird", "general bird" and he has some weird melodies that he sings too. Fred, our third, is also a dirty face pied male. We don't know how old he is though, because we got him from some people who found him in the back yard. His chirps sound similar to a parakeets and he can mimic an alarm clock perfectly (he learned this before we got him). Friday is our most recent, we just got her about a month ago. She is a 5 year old cinnamon! She holds her food with her foot when she eats and she does a hyper/happy dance whenever we refill her food dish. She is so loving, but still adjusting to us. We first go Tweety in Summer 03, and all the rest since. Very little time to get adjusted to them. However, it has been worth it...They are adorable and I don't know what I would do without them. :)

I have three, a breeding pair and a single guy. Out of all the birds I have or have had the cockatiel is my favorite. Yours sound like a lot of fun.

Murphee....
she loves broccoli, head scratches, and Tom Jones. ;)
Seriously, she's an affectionate little sweetie and she's given me so much joy. :)
First bird I've ever had so I get a little anxious at times about looking after her. :) Proud new "Mom". ;) I just want her to be happy and secure. And well-fed.
