Aren't yellow cats normally male?
Our youngest yellow cat whom we assumed to be male, last nite gave birth to 3 kittens. I am still in shock. I heard a kitten mewing, found the source and asked hubby, are we sure Simba is a Male Cat? Oh teah, he's a male. 2 more kittens later hubby examines Simba and says "I could have sworn he had balls". LOL now I am trying to get used to refering to Simba as a she. my, my, my

1. The coloring for orange is sex-linked
so an orange cat is more likely to be male. Here's a good explanation:

I didn't know this when I named my orange kitten "Luci" and a few weeks later he developed the anatomy for a male and became "Lucifer"

3. Thanks for posting that article I always wondered
why a majority of orange kitties were guys like mine.

LOL, so you have kittens, any gingers in the litter? I'm looking for an orange male baby and I live in southern OH. Let me know. 48

7. Simba is the daughter of our eldest female cat
So far she seems to be a good mom. The night she had them though, I had to take one kitten out of the sack and help with the after birth of 2 of them. We have a house fullof cats so it will be well adjusted to other cats. You are more than welcome to come down and look em over in a month or so. I don't have a digital camera or anything to post pictures.

I'll pay attention to their personalities when they start moving around. They are only 3 or 4 days old so it is really hard to tell anything right now.

8. Good, so they will all be used to people and
other cats...ideal would be a male. I've seemed to have good luck with keeping everyone the same sex.

My cats are one big brown tabby who is almost 14, he's very mellow and forgiving. Then there is the Daemon, no intro needed. He is my spice boy. He is very loving, but also very saucy sometimes. So maybe a cat in between might be in order.

Here's my guyz:

9. How precious!

I have not checked their genders yet. I hate to touch them when they are this young. I ended up throwing up on the night they were born. But I am almost sure I saved the one kitten's life so it was worth it.

They will be manhandled by my 8 year old son and romped with by 3 kittens from our last batch that were born Tsunami day in December 04.

10. Let me know when you figure out what sex they are
I went to the SPCA here on Thurs. just to see what kittens they had, tons -- it was heartbreaking. I asked how they get them all, the lady said, people find them in trash bags, on the side of the road, it made me so MAD  people are evil for tossing kittens.

4. On the farm where I grew up
all of our barn cats were either orange or orange and white. Our particular cat colony was composed of mainly related females, with the odd tom or two. There was a lot of inbreeding.

13. Kitten-itis struck on 6/29 with us, we adopted 2 orange
babies from our local SPCA. They are brothers born in mid April (Aries kittens for sure!! SPAZZES!!)

We love them, my daughter will take Mo (Motor) home to Pitt in August for her cat Larry to pal around with, and Flummi will stay with us and our two other cats. All four have bonded and they are really hysterical with each other.

Good luck placing your kitties, I am sure you will find good homes for them.
