Why does my cat do this?
nikko's started doing the oddest thing the past two weeks... Whenever he eats, whether it's from his bowl, or whether i feed him something on the floor or off a plate, he's started scraping around the area with his claws, as if raking in scraps or something... though of course, there's nothing there...

it's the weirdest looking thing i've ever seen...

anyone know what i'm talking about?

1. He's "covering" his food
Oberon and Puck do this when they don't like the flavor of the night "this is shit-gimme something else" they seem to be saying.

I just purchased two raised bowl sets from Ross dress-for-less ($10 each) , and they seem more willing to eat now that the food is up at nose level.

8. Same with Quinn.
Althea is less picky, she just loves food :).

Quinn is a burier, he'll bury anything :)

4. My Khan 'buries' his food..
he will also bury MY food if he happens upon one of my plates.
I've seen one or two of my others do this once in a blue moon, but he does it at every meal.

7. On the other hand, the Little is getting extremely loving
we ran out of the healthy organic cat food I've been giving her, and rather than run to Wawa for Fancy Feast, my S.O. opened a can of tuna for her.

She has been an affection-hound ever since.

I definitly tie the tuna and the lovin' together

She usually tries to bury what my S.O. has called "the hippy cat food".

9. Tucker dos this
all the time with his wet food. He does it whether he eats it when he's fed or leaves it till later. He works really hard at burying his food right before he goes outside. I always figured that he was "hiding" it for later.
