looking for a dog bandana sewing pattern - preferably FREE
I'm looking for a FREE sewing pattern to make bandanas for dogs.

Been through google and other search engines but they only give me links to other pages with links that send me to even more pages with just links --- ARRRGGGHHH

yeah, I have regular bandanas (for people) but they do not stay on and because the dogs have larger necks than people - they also don't lay nice.

any help is appreciated -- even a quick description with some dimensions - I can draw up a pattern from that

some interesting materials...

I have a friend who made personalized bandanas for all our pups a while back. I can contact her and find out some details about how she did it.
These were really nice, cotton, full square bandanas with their names and 'portraits" embroidered on them. She had some sort of embroidery machine.

I have also gotten these triangular bandanas that have velcro fasteners at the corners which are nowhere near as nice. Much flimsier material.

2. I make them and sell them as a fundraiser

for my rescue group. I made up a pattern based on bandanas someone gave to my dogs. They have a channel at the top that the dog's collar goes thru - so they stay on.

Basically the pattern is a triangle with a rectangle on top of it. When I cut the fabric, I fold it and place the long end of the rectangel on the fold . I sew it together right side in leaving open small side of rectangle. Turn it right side out, top stitch (which closes opening and gives nice finished look ), fold down the channel and topstitch it in place.

I make small and large ones How big is your dog?
