Goodbye Sunny, I Will Miss You

She was a 2 1/2 year old parakeet and I loved her. I hope, I know, I gave her a happy life but she died, way too young, from a renal tumor. You feel so helpless, there's nothing you can do. I hope her passing was not too painful. I decided to leave her at home in comfortable, familar surroundings w/ her mate Blue, as opposed to having her put down. She had pain medication which I hope helped ease her passing.

She had a sweet song. She was sweet, and tame and loving. She'd nibble my ear and play w/ my earring. She'd preen my hair and my beard. She'd chew on the blinds and hang upside down. She let me hold her close and pet her. She was so pure and loving.

Goodbye Sunny. You were a pure light in this world and I will miss you and always remember the warmth you brought to my life. I hope I brought it to yours as well.

I know it is hard to lose a fur-child or in Sunny's case a feather-child. She sounds like a sweety. I have a feeling you did the right thing for her in loving her and in letting her be surrounded by what she loved when she went. Hang in there and remember she will always live on with in you. :hug:

5. I had a sweet little 'keet once.

He was so affectionate and would fly to you when you called his name. The pet sitter let him out with the window open while I was on vacation and couldn't get him back inside :(
