Some thoughts... and Mathew's Message of 8/21/09
Now that the internet is somewhat working...at the moment, here goes

I have been thinking about all these angry people etc., and from my other thread on Palin and Shallah's post and links, I had to educate myself about the so-called religious right and the CNP. Thanks Shallah :hi:
It is quite amazing that in this modern era certain people can be so misled, and adamantly follow the drum.

from wiki on USA
The United States is officially a secular nation; the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees the free exercise of religion and forbids the establishment of any religious governance. In a 2002 study, 59% of Americans said that religion played a "very important role in their lives," a far higher figure than that of any other wealthy nation.<138> According to a 2007 survey, 78.4% of adults identified themselves as Christian,<139> down from 86.4% in 1990.<140> Protestant denominations accounted for 51.3%, while Roman Catholicism, at 23.9%, was the largest individual denomination. The study categorizes white evangelicals, 26.3% of the population, as the country's largest religious cohort;<139> another study estimates evangelicals of all races at 30–35%.<141>

Let's say 26% of the population, why do they yield so much power? I can't help but draw some similarities to feudal Japan. Watching many of the samurai TV series, quite often they would depict a very bad monk advising and conspiring with, against, or for, the ruling class of a particular clan.

and post war Japan:
Article 20 of the 1947 Constitution states, "Freedom of religion is guaranteed to all. No religious organization shall receive any privileges from the State, nor exercise any political authority". Separation of religion and the state, however, is a more difficult issue.

Historically, there was no distinction between a scientific and a religious worldview. In early Japanese history, the ruling class was responsible for performing propitiatory rituals, which later came to be identified as Shinto, and for the introduction and support of Buddhism. Later, religious organization was used by regimes for political purposes, as when the Tokugawa government required each family to be registered as a member of a Buddhist temple for purposes of social control. In the late nineteenth century, rightists created State Shinto, requiring that each family belong to a shrine parish and that the concepts of emperor worship and a national Japanese "family" be taught in the schools.

The Wiki third sentence quoted above is not exactly correct, in what it implies. I think it would apply more to the US today, considering the debates.
In all the years I was in Japan - no one spoke of any organized religion, it is so not part of any daily discussion or interest, unless there is some ritual or ceremony - which is just done more out of respect to tradition. On the political front the only hot spot is the controversy of the Yasukuni Shrine. People would look at you if you were to talk about "God" and simply walk away. But of course in some families you have the God of the toilet, and the God of the kitchen - the fisheries God, the harvest God etc. none of which, really taken seriously at all. As a ritual, you would honor them only with a customary offering...water, salt or whatever, and a silent prayer for safety. Done in freedom and in private according to whatever sect.

U.S. STANDS ALONE IN ITS EMBRACE OF RELIGION

Sorry for the long intro, but what does it take to bring tolerance and harmony? I was curious what Mathew had to say about the current discourse, and so here it is:

Duality ending; steps to rid Earth of dark influence; radiate your light; mandatory swine flu inoculations; results of fear; specific help from other civilizations

1. A very good day to all! This is Matthew, greeting you with love from all souls at this station. Many of you are welcoming these days at hand for what they are: undeniable evidence that Earth has reached energy planes where all actions and reactions are “revving up” as the duality in humankind leaps and bounces to play itself out. But larger numbers of the populace regard the happenings with confusion, discouragement or outright fear. I have referred before to the “bumps” in the road as Earth’s journey progresses, but bumps and potholes is more descriptive of the ups and downs affecting all souls at this time of Earth’s accelerated pace into fourth density, where only the finest in human nature thrives.

2. The higher vibrations surrounding and within you are producing physical and emotional anomalies, and in previous messages we have offered suggestions to deal with those. It is what fear produces that merits greater attention. People who are fearful about what they think is occurring and what may be ahead will experience severe jolting in numerous aspects of their lives during this final phase of third density on the planet. If they knew that the ages-old dark control of life on Earth is ending, they would rejoice with lightworkers and lightwarriors throughout the universe, but they aren’t remembering their elation at being chosen to embody and participate in this transformation into the glorious Golden Age.

3. However, the tumult within individuals caused by this mass forgetfulness during the changeover from “old” to “new,” most simply speaking, was anticipated by the highest universal council members who long ago conceived and crafted the Golden Age’s master plan. The plan included millions and millions of souls from advanced civilizations whose essential assistance on, within and above Earth assured that she not only would survive death throes, but would be restored to her original paradise self, where all her people live in harmony with each other and all of Nature.
