Good Morning :)
So many of us have invested tremendous time and energy into various projects and passions, and until they manifest (the "success" of these projects), there is no income from them. I know I'm speaking to the choir. ;)
At present, I'm invested in about six different projects...lol...but they all carry a piece of me -- often a very large piece -- so I am still passionate about all of them, even if I'm the behind-the-scenes person. ;)
To promote a few books coming out in the spring, I want to set the authors up to offer online classes and blogtalkradio spots, probably free or donation only. I'd like your opinion as to your preferences.
For spiritual content, if you had an interest in online classes at all, do you prefer the setup where you simply login and download the information at your leisure, with a forum to discuss things and with a podcast of same perhaps?
Or, do you prefer a conference call type of setup with "live" interaction?
Or, is there a combination of these things you personally like?
I never have the time or patience for online classes, so I don't think my opinions about this are helpful...lol. If I were to do something, I would probably want it to be at my own pace. However, at some point I would like the option of joining together in a more personal way, such as a conference call, skype chat (which I have yet to do), or similar interaction.
Thoughts?
As always, thanks for sharing your opinions. You all have helped me with so many things and I really treasure this soul group.

... is to do things on my own time - so downloading the info, having a forum - that appeals to me significantly more than a conference call. I took many a coaching class on live calls and I'm sure others enjoyed them but I abhor the goofy chit-chat that goes on in those things. If it's not headed up by someone who is focused and knows how to re-direct conversations back on topic, it's completely useless to me.
(As a caveat: many people really enjoy the interactions between classmates and take those classes for that reason, primarily. I'm an information seeker, so I want to get in, get the info and move on. Just my preference.)
Love your idea and thank you for asking what our opinions are. I'm sure you'll see a lot of diversity in them.

You bring up a great point. I need to be aware of the desired goal: it is to learn or is it socialization and interaction.
Given the nature of one of the author's writings, I think a combination of the two will be necessary.
Thanks again.

Conference calls are a challenge for me; something inevitably comes up with work or family and I can't call in.
I would like to download info or access it at my choice of time, then have a message board where the contents and thoughts could be discussed.
Something is lost when the participants can't do live questioning. Perhaps questions could be gathered from the forum and sent to the author, who could answer some in a written response.

4. My preference would be both. ; ) |

Could you have the download-at-leisure/forum, & later offer a specific date & time for a short chat? This would allow those who need to ask specific questions the opportunity without it being a mandatory thing. It could even be set up that one of the forum threads be for the chat topics.....limitations, topics, rules, etc. could be set there.
If only one is possible, then I'd choose the download-at-leisure/forum. :)
