A silly post to share: hormones and snow flurries |
|
My hormone saliva testing results are in and I have an appointment with the bioidentical compounding dude Monday morning. Yay!!!
:bounce:
I'm in Raleigh, NC, and we're expecting snow flurries this afternoon. Yay!!!
:bounce:
(the sad thing is, they're actually letting the kids out of school early....for flurries!!!)

1. Let us know how this goes |
|
I began my bio-identical hormones in September. Also big adrenal support because the nurse practitioner I'm working with feels I have adrenal fatigue. My energy level is improving.

2. I will, Bonnie. I have a feeling adrenals are part of my problem, too... |

and/or thyroid. Who knows? I'm just so relieved to finally be getting to a point of having labs evaluated, to see where I am in this perimenopausal maze.
Glad your energy level is improving.

on the adrenal, thyroid, hormone connection. It's really interesting. They all work together. Very tricky.
I'm taking adrenal supplement, the bio-est hormone cream, DHEA and after two months of those we've added a small amount of thyroid.
I don't wear out like I was. And I'm sleeping wonderfully for the first time in years.

I know they all work together and it's a delicate dance. I may have to get a thyroid-adrenal specific salivary test next to really get the big picture of what I need. I wish that would have been included in the hormone test kit.

5. I am glad for you that you are getting the care that you need... |

I had a very difficult time with menopause for around three years...until someone told me about wild yam cream. I used it for two weeks and all my problems went away and I have been fine ever since. You can get some on line if you are interested or you can also find it in the supermarkets by looking at the ingredients listed in menopausal medications. It balances everything out and is wonderful. I have turned lots of people on it and it has worked great for them all so far. Let us know how things go...

I wish the yam cream would have worked like that for me. I've been taking that for about six months -- and it does help -- but it's not a miraculous difference for me. Then again, it could be a dosage thing that I'm not getting right.
It really helped my PMS years ago, too, so I was hoping it would work wonders during this change. I'm almost positive that's what is wrong with me, but I guess I'll find out when we go over the results.
They changed the appt to Tuesday morning now. It's rather nice: my daughter leaves for her annual NYC trip with her dad on Monday, Mark leaves for WI super early Tuesday morning, and I go for my appt mid-morning on Tuesday. It launches a few days of me, me, me! (other than work and Meals-On-Wheels, of course :) )
