Astrological Configurations and Marriage Endings |
|
It appears that many marriages and relationships ended in 2009. Not just among celebs, but I personally know of a dozen or so partnerships that have ended this year. What astrological configurations would bring about these intimate endings?

and about 6 friends. Ask ricochetastroman, probably Saturn moving into Libra and things dealing with partnerships, along with some other "goodies." (rolling eyes here) :sarcasm:

I thought perhaps it was the Saturn Uranus opposition, where some may need to break free if they feel stagnant; the seesaw of old vs new, security vs freedom.
Here's hoping Rick will show up on this thread and help us out.

Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins . . .after twenty three years. Learned yesterday too of yet another separation of two people I know who ended their business partnership and marriage.
Keep wishing someone with astrological expertise would weigh in on this topic.

Maybe it is just a time for changes that were coming. A good friend of mine broke up with his partner of 26 years because he had had major spiritual improvements in his life over the past dozen or so years while his partner refused to take any personal responsibility for his own constant misery. After a long time of getting better my friend decided he could no longer live in chaos, especially when he was not contributing to it anymore. It was a building thing, then finally it just broke around the first of this year and he made his decision. He told me the other day that he is experiencing a tremendous amount of peace this Holiday Season as compared to last.
Could something be happening to bring people to breaking points, where changes that need to be made finally are made? I saw a lot of changes in my own marriage, but in an opposite way where we finally addressed some issues more than we had and I now feel that our relationship is actually closer, but we came to a breaking point as well, several of them. It just ended up with changes that have, so far, improved our marriage instead of ending it.

6. There was something during the late spring/early summer, IIRC |

Don't ask me what, though. My brain is a sieve when it comes to that kind of thing.
I will say that my marriage needs some serious attention, as we had several ugly but necessary implosions earlier in the year, coinciding with what I thought was some astrological event. Not to say that it hadn't been building for a while, but it definitely hit the breaking point this year.

7. The coming of Saturn in Libra will bring about the end of many relationships. |

Especially long-term partnerships like marriage (Libra's realm). Relax, everyone, just as many will benefit from Saturn in Libra, as this transit will bring them to their true soulmates. And I personally believe that Saturn in Virgo, which is energy I found to be totally unforgiving, coincided with the end of many relationships these last two years (primarily because of the harshness of Saturn's qualities in this sign).
Of course, divorcing or splitting couples can't and shouldn't blame the planets alone for their problems. We do have the free will to transmute the difficulties in our personal lives (within reason; sometimes people are just. not. compatible. and no amount of counseling is going to change that.)
Still, if you're looking for a single astro condition to point to as the "cause" of the break-ups--Saturn in Libra. If you wonder if your relationships will run into trouble under this influence, well, yeah, probably. But you will likely also begin truly fulfilling relationships as well. Saturn isn't always the raging d*ckwad he has been recently.

8. Oh, heck. Marriages end all the time. |
|
Mine ended several years ago -- the divorce became final last year, a day before my 60th birthday, but it was over two or three years before that.
I think the astrological configurations simply relate to the specific people involved. For some reason we might become more aware of marriage endings at a particular time, such as this past year, but it's not as though marriage endings ever take a hiatus.

Thanks for the Saturn in Libra suggestion. I agree breakups happen, but if I'm correct, astrology can serve as a fore warning of things that COULD, but not necessarily occur. I don't think I have seen much about the Saturn in Libra implications relating to marriages or partnerships falling apart. How long is this configuration going to last?

10. Saturn will be in Libra |
|
until early October 2012. However it will retrograde back into Virgo on April 8th 2010 and remain in that sign until July 22nd of 2010.
Yup. . .the Saturn/ Uranus opposition again on July 22nd has a lot to do with these shake ups and breakups.
However, Pluto's ingress into Capricorn (late November '08) and square to Saturn (November 15th '09) has 'caused a reassessment of that to that which we commit ourselves. The square reoccur February 1st, '10, and again on August 21st '10.
Pluto will stay in Cap until '23-'24.
Hopefully by things lots of dysfunctional stuff will be cleaned up.

12. Besides the stars, could it be the shift? |
|
Maybe those partners, who are more spiritually advanced, must leave behind those who aren't ascending as quickly? Just a thought. Although, I'm a widow and unmarried, I have noticed that some of my friendships have become more distant as those friends don't seem to be on the same plane that I'm on right now.

Differences in ascension beliefs led to my separating from the rest of my coven. I just didn't feel like I belonged with my sisters anymore even though I once felt closer to them than my blood relatives. It was shocking how strong the change was--it was like they were suddenly complete strangers.

need each other with respect to financial and survival issues. Some are moving in with other friends and renting rooms from them, somewhat akin to a commune atmosphere.
