The trials of being Leo
Edited on Tue Aug-02-05 06:16 AM by votesomemore
Can a Leo whine? okay, take a seat.

You know. Most astrologers say we are "bossy". That is not entirely accurate.

What I'm finding more and more is that people lean on me. I'm the sunshine provider. The 'buck it up' cheerleader. That doesn't make me bossy. Just resourceful.

In the past I've looked for supportive colleagues. To be true to them, there are those special people who fill that space.

But OTOH, it is beginning to dawn on me that I am the most upbeat person I know. Always a word of encouragement. The Big Sister.

I had a former-life reading which just struck me like a bolt, indicating that even my so-called mother in this life was in another a younger sister.

Well. I was feeling a little sorry for my Leo self until I wrote this.

But I do wonder. Can you see any influence from your Sun Sign?

Wow. I might be coming to terms with the huge possibility of how and that my Sun Sign plays large in my experience. Hum.

1. Influence from my sun sign?
Without doubt. Let's see... I am self-confident, a natural leader, impulsive, well-organized, intuitive, overflowing with ideas and plans, optimistic, impatient....

I guess I'd be an Aries. ;-)

With a Gemini moon and Leo rising.

3. My mom was an Aries.
And sometimes I can spot them before they say a word, by the clothes they are wearing. Of course, not all Aries do that, but whenever I see that particular quality, and ask, it is indeed Aries.

Black and white and red. Kind of geometric. Strong. Very striking.

7. Not me.
I'm also an introvert; sounds weird for an Aries, but it's true. I tend to be a leader where ever I end up, but I'm always trying to escape notice. I wear clothing that blends into the background, and attempt to pass invisibly through the crowds until I want to be noticed. Then I just open my mouth, lol.

17. Aries are soooo much fun!
Just get things going all the time. I'm a planner. Ya'll DO IT!

I'll go for the ride.

My mouth gets me into shall we say interesting situations too.
Some have tried to color me "extreme". I say, "yeah, I don't do middle of the road. There is traffic ya know."

There is no way you blend into the background.

2. I date a 'super' Leo
sun, moon and a couple planets in Leo. 'Buck it up cheerleader' cracked me up. He's just the way you describe yourself. Sometimes his chipper optimism drives me crazy ;-) Now, if only he'd be a little more bossy - (me being a 6th house Virgo) but that's a whole other story

I drive some folks nuts too. I think as "maturity" sets in .. if there is a such a thing, I've tried to tone down a little. Or maybe I've just let it loose. hmm good question .

But they keep coming back for more. So. Use sunscreen if needed.

My ascendant is also Leo. One of my best friends is Virgo. I call on him when I need a word of encouragement. He's Mr. fix it.

4. My sister's a Leo...but had a lot of Cancer,too
Me...another Aries here...but definitely tempered by my Cap moon and Libra rising....but yeah...definitely Aries qualities...I love to go FAST and get in front of the other cars at the red light...why? guess cause I can??

Always like Leos...fire sign kindred spirits I guess:hi:

I think most fire signs tend to be optimists, what do you think?? Is it a fire sign thing?? I've been called the *eternal optimist* more than once (I like your description of "buck it up" cheerleader...I can relate) ...takes a lot to get me down and fortunately it doens't last long if I am down. So thats pretty cool.....

I am good with being an Aries...and I am 29'33" Aries, so I guess I'm almost done :) cool:)

Edited on Tue Aug-09-05 07:05 PM by 48percenter
who's lost their spark. sad sight indeed. i feel like one of those lately, since frickin' merc retrograde in leo and saturn in leo, dragging me down. my beloved grandmother is dying and it is killing me. i know it's for the best, she is in pain, but its hitting me really hard, and my daughter goes back to school after spending the summer here, so i dread her leaving sunday...maybe just dumb old unresolved fears of abandonment dredging to the surface. how saturnine, eh?

19. No one ever said
that Leos don't get lonely (or any other). I think the water signs are the least lonely from my observation anyway.

Think of it this way. Saturn is pulling, k? BUT, we can go either way. We learn or live to learn.

It will all be okay. Doesn't get "better" as some say. It gets less frequent.

You'll find the joy again.

5. Hmmm, I am a Cancer (I prefer Moonchild).
and for being a person who grew up without a Mother, I somehow became a lot of people's "second Mom". Two of my son's friends have always called me Mom, people come to me when they want their stitches removed and don't want to pay a doctor, neighborhood children bring their sick pets to me to ask if I can "fix" them, friends bring their sick plants to me, and as if that wasn't enough; children are now coming up to me in the grocery store to ask me to play with them! The last kid who did that said I looked like a Grama who still remembered how to play! I am.

So, yeah - I fit my Sun Sign.

6. Heh. I have both Sun and Pluto in Leo
I figure I can use my power for the forces or good or evil!

Seriously, I hear you on the "cheerleader" thing. People tend to confide in me and ask for advice all the time. It does get wearying sometimes and there are days I don't want to answer the phone.

8. Whine away babe...
Fellow Leo here (Moon in Libra, Merc. in Cancer, Venus in Leo, Mars in Taurus, Jup Sag, Rising Virgo) I don't consider myself a true Leo, I am much more sensitive with the Cancer and other earth planets mitigating the fire. I am the true blue friend that people call to listen, any hour of the day. I don't judge (like Leos can be prone to do) I sympathize, hug, give a there-there. Can I get you something to eat? Shit, I should just been born a Cancer.

Honestly, I think my Leo is overshadowed by the practical earth in my chart. My husband who is a Virgo, but has alot of fire, is more like you describe yourself than I am. (He's Virgo, Moon in Aries, Merc. Virgo, Venus Leo, Mars Leo, Jup. Taur. Rising Libra) He's the rah-rah girl. LOL. Just my random thoughts

and I always just thought I was wishy washy. The emotional pull!

You know, Jackie Onassis aka Kennedy was Leo. You know she had sensitivity. Leo does not mean no sensitivity. At all.

Father sun and mother earth and moonchild. Sounds good to me.

10. Leo, Capricorn rising
... all I can say is that for some reason, all my life I've been my own worst enemy.

Everyone around me has said as long as I can remember that I was 'born to lead' and 'people gravitate toward me' yada yada ... I was always one of the smartest and most independent in class ... teachers pushed me to go into the military (diplomatic corps/foreign language) or law.

But I have a lazy, 'fuck you', hide-in-a-cave streak a mile wide.

If it's easy, I won't do it.
If it involves 'teamwork', I won't do it.

I must have made one hell of a contract with Spirit when I signed on for this go-round to have my signs line up the way they did.

I can totally identify. I'm not into easy either. The teacher's pet thing was always on my plate, and other kids made out like I sought that out, which I did not. Just being myself.

I learned "team-work" for a job. But guess what. I was the chair person for project coordination which involved upper management, VPs. EVPs, etc. I had to pull all that together. Evidently they had three hours to screw off. I did not.

Yeah. Spirit. I know what you mean.

people with Leo rising? A Gemini I know with Leo rising seems to be having nothing but bad a string of bad luck.

22. When Saturn begins crossing your ascendant, it can be pretty hard.
I mean, look what's happening to george booosh.

It's not just one of the 4 angles in your chart, it's the one that's right in your face!

The good news is that it's not awful CONSTANTLY, unless you let it consume you. Look for the good in things while you can. It can definitely put a cloud over the sunny Leo qualities, and there's no way around that. But always, with Saturn, you have to look to holding a steady course in the face of adversity, and honoring those things that are your duty to achieve each day.

If you continually choose the higher path, and honor your inner truth, you will pass any "tests" that it throws your way. Honor yourself, whether others do or not, and do what you believe in.

That is what Saturn is going to require.

 I'm sending a big hug for all of our Leo folks!

The good news is....it will eventually pass.

:kick:

23. This Saturn pass
has already given me a payoff. I had an experience last week where I said, "no more bullshit"! This is what I can do and I cannot go any futher. I've been into the caretaker lifestyle. It works in some cases and really hurts in others.

I felt this. It is Real.

Face the adversary and step away. This may be what's happening with #. He cannot use the energy for his own advantage. No more. Let us pray. And so it is.

Like you say, listen to the inner guidance. It never lies.

25. Aries Sun, Leo Moon, Virgo Rising. So, I feel your pain.
I believe too much emphasis is put on Sun signs. Everything has to be gauged by the whole chart. The Sun is only the energy used to vitalize the other planetary energies. This light(if you will)then has to be distributed onto the earth. This is done through the focalization principle of the Moon. It is the lens the ego uses to focus itself onto the earth plane etc., etc. So, to focus on just the Sun sign is harmless fun. But there's so much more to it than that.

I'm the go-to person for everybody, but have no one to go-to for myself.

I'm a Leo w/Sag rising, moon in Cancer, Venus in Virgo, Mars in Gemini and at first I was dreading the Saturn in Leo transit, but now I feel like I'm riding it like a wave. Hope that lasts.
