So here's a major test for us |
|
The news just broke that Rush Limbaugh has been taken in serious condition to a hospital in Hawaii (chest pains)...he must be about ready for his second saturn return...
As disgustng as his constant lies and calls to "kill the liberals" have been, he is still a suffering human being...we are exhorted by Master Jesus to pray for our enemies, so i will do that as sincerely as i can...i wish him no ill, but it would not break my heart if he retires to his mansion and golf course and STFUs...it would be a miracle if this experience makes him a better, more compassionate person...and miracles do happen...
Sending love and light to you, Rush...

1. Well, I haven't been exactly in a turn the other cheek mood today, but |
|
in Limbaugh's case I would be very happy if it would be impossible for him to do his show or be in the public eye anymore. That would do it for me. He can go back to his mansion and enjoy his millions as a has been. I think it's his poisonous rhetoric that has been so destructive to this country that needs to be shut down. And if his breakdown, whether it's heart trouble or drug trouble, does it, then I am grateful to the universe for doing this and putting him out to pasture.

I wouldn't mind if he lost his voice, though. :-)

The first thing I thought when I saw the news last night was -- well, there goes another hate monger. I didn't take the teachings of Master Jesus to pray for our enemies to heart. In fact, I didn't even think anything else about it until I read your post this a.m. You're right Moonbeam. We are called to love and pray for our enemies. Thank you for that reminder.
Although, I'll tell I can't let go of the wish that he would be foreced to retire so we are not forced to tolerate his hate anymore.

Heart attacks are very, very, scary for everyone. They do often result in serious changes in attitudes and lifestyle. I've lived it with my father AND my husband and I have nothing but sympathy for anyone who is feeling that fear and pain.
It is my hope that the damage to his heart is minimal and that he finds health in the aftermath.

18. Page 552 in the AA Big Book. |
|
He said, in effect: "If you have a resentment you want to be free of, if you will pray for the person or the thing that you resent, you will be free. If you will ask in prayer for everything you want for yourself to be given to them, you will be free. Ask for their health, their prosperity, their happiness, and you will be free. Even when you don't really want it for them, and your prayers are only words and you don't mean it, go ahead and do it anyway. Do it every day for two weeks and you will find you have come to mean it and to want it for them, and you will realize that where you used to feel bitterness and resentment and hatred, you now feel compassionate understanding and love."
I'm a long way from this being anything like habitual, but practice makes progress.

11. I am clearly not spiritually advanced. |

All I could think of was "karma is a bitch"-- and "right in the heart chakra!--how telling." Anyway, I guess I can hope that he is given a second chance and does good instead of evil with it.

I couldn't sum up what's in my heart any better.
And thank you, Moonbeam23 for reminding us of our calling.

17. I believe that there are truly evil people in the world. And I |
|
believe that Limbaugh is one of them. IMHO he has been a major factor in the destruction of our country. I'm having a hard time wishing him well.

19. My sense of the whole escapade is it was for sympathy publicity for |
|
his show. The numbers for the republicans are way down. That tells me he's probably losing lots of listeners, as people are tired of hearing his crazy ideas & twisted logic that has gotten more & more outrageous. Hopefully joe-amurika is waking up to the outlandish verbiage that the republicans continually spew.
I also feel it might have been to take the public eye off some other republican scandal.
These are just my intuitive impressions.
