Times of Crisis: Saturn/Pluto
Happy New Year to everyone in this corner of the DU world! Here is my latest post about the Saturn/Pluto square and terrorism.

http://starlightnews.com/wordpress/?p=128#comments

The Saturn/Pluto cycle, and, most specifically, the conjunction, squares, and opposition between these two bodies, has long been associated with increased violence and vicious attacks. While Pluto describes fanatical intensity and the feeling of a power struggle of epic consequence, Saturn tends to give concrete form and real world implications to whatever it impacts. Most recently, there has been a significant correlation between these Saturn/Pluto aspects and events of terrorism, as well as the heightened anxiety of their aftermath. Also prominent are extreme and dangerous weather systems and various forms of political upheaval. But in the Age of Terrorism in which we now live, the increase in attacks by religious extremists during Saturn/Pluto aspects is striking.

snip

The current Saturn/Pluto square runs from November 2009 through August 2010, and is likely to bring more brutality before it is through. The Saturn station in January falls within a degree of its square to Pluto, with the exact aspect coming on February 1, 2010, and suggesting that late December 2009, the entire month of January, and early February 2010, will be vulnerable to this very intense and dangerous configuration, heightening the sense of fierce power struggle and deep anxiety. From December 28 through January 3 a further layer of tension and potential violence is added by the slowly moving retrograde Mars in a sesquiquadrate to Pluto. The recent attack on the CIA outpost in Afghanistan, the devastating suicide bombing at a volleyball tournament in Pakistan, and the growing violence between protesters and the government in Iran are all manifestations of this very dangerous configuration. Also significant will be the Sun/Mars opposition (9 -10 Leo/Aquarius) from January 28 to January 30 that will be in a minor hard aspect to Uranus (24Pisces), just as the Saturn/Pluto square reaches its second exact crossing on February 1. These few days are also likely to bring an upsurge in violence fueled by extremism and causing great sorrow and devastation in susceptible parts of the world.

much more...

1. Thanks, Nancy.
It looks like 2010 is perhaps not going to be the better year we were hoping for.

2. It seems it has to still get worse before it gets better.
Thanks for posting Nancy.

3. I think it will be a tense year
especially through August but really until the end of October. The next few years will still see strong Saturn action in the US chart, but that is easier than Pluto and Saturn to US Venus. It will be a hard slog to clean up the mess left by GWB and Co. Reminds me of the Cat in the Hat:

and this mess is so big and so deep and so tall,
we cannot clean it up there is no way at all.

Let's hope Obama is the Cat in the Hat!!

4. Thank you for reminding me of that story.
When my children were small, I read it to them so many times that I could close my eyes and recite it from memory.

The Cat in the Hat must be a Democrat. Democrats always have to clean up the messes left by republicans. Thing One and Thing Two must be republicans.

7. Dr. Seuss
He wrote a great anti war kid's book--The Butter Battle. Two civilizations were in a cold war.....one liked their butter on top of the bread, and the other liked the butter on the bottom side of the bread.

Believe it or not, my daughter was in a college musical based on it. Somebody at her college wrote an operetta ala Gilbert and Sullivan style, to the plot of The Butter Battle.

I never had even heard of the book. I think it may have been too political to be marketable.

BUTTER BATTLE!!

6. Hunkered down for
"the worst" to get over so we can get to "the better".

But, no matter how bad it gets I'm appreicative that we have President Obama and his Team doing their very utmost best(as Saturn/Pluto will allow at this point).

THanks Nancy for all your contributions to our political-astrological discourse.:)
