I am SOOOO done! (GD rant & world news at large...)
I think i just hit the saturation point.

The news about Yemen, more deaths in Afganistan, Iran issues, who said what, etc. is finally. just. too. much.

This year I am choosing to focus on my own community and work on my issues and how to grow my life in a positive and healthy way. And I think part of that may be to go ahead and just disconnec from the state of events that are taking place on the planet at large. I know there are those of us here that participat in healing prayers for the planet and praying for world peace, etc...but i may just decide to bless the land i am standing on, and leave the rest to chance.
The events unfolding abroad and in country and even 100 miles away seem like a perpetual motion machine on it's own course. Why should I get upset about any of it if all is happening in divine shift anyway...?
This is not a rant of I don;t care - but one of I cannot let myself get upset and full of angst over something I can;t control and people I have no attachment to. I have to let it go and focus on improving MY WORLD.
here's where I start to get a little irreverent, forgive my attitude...

The wars are stupid and nobody belongs in anyone elses country trying to "help them" or "make them behave" - just let them blow eachother up till they get a clue. screw it.

The planet is going to melt down and warm up and shift it's own way, it is SO past the tipping point that the only thing that will STOP the fossil fuel burning soiety we have is for it to collapse. Peak oil may be the saving grace. Meanwhile, get used to living off your OWN plot of land and sharing with community...the world is about to get a whole lot smaller for many of us. deal with it.

Democrats & republicans are one & the same - theses people in power are NOT in integrity - they are NOT serving the people ad the corporations are not going to stop until there is nobody left to bleed dry - then they will turn on eachother. The rest of the shit hitting the fan will crumble their industrial complex soon enough. I am done playing. I will never hold another corporate job again, maybe never even hold a "real" job again. I am over the old paradigm of authority given to a BOSS and me being the SERF. I am not playing by those rules anymore. period. Elections will come & go, but the changes in the next year are going to be so freaking BIG that the rules will not apply much longer. It can;t continue...everytime i think it can;t get worse and that another crook will get his comeuppance - I am proven wrong. So I am unplugging from that reality.
~~~~~~~~
Anyway...this is my new year rant and I cannot believe that it is a whole decade past the time where I "thought" things were going to start changing for the better(1999-Y2K). This is IT people... the wheels are in motion, 2012 is only 2 years away and we are on the brink of a whole New Planet. So maybe disengaging from the OLD - the news cycle and the angst and the limited belief - is the healthy thing to do.
I don't know about YOU - but I am just going to focus on getting MY affairs in order... mind, body & soul.
1. Behold: You have Shifted
Edited on Sun Jan-03-10 12:48 PM by MorningGlow
Not being snarky in the least; I mean it in all sincerity. Lately I have come to the conclusion that truly deciding to shift into the new reality is defined exactly the way you have just described it--realizing that the most important thing you can do is share your light with your immediate community. I hate to say it, because it sounds so selfish, but it's not. It's not REALLY "I've got mine, screw anybody I don't know"--instead, it's thinking globally, acting locally in the truest sense of the philosophy.
If we get our local affairs in order--our selves, our loved ones, our immediate community, we will raise our closest vibration. More people doing this worldwide raises the collective vibration. Conversely, banging our heads against the brick walls of global politics, corporatism, and all the rest is honestly a waste of time. HOWEVER, this is also not to say that we can't give to a charity benefiting the people of Darfur, or send light to those who need it even if we don't know them, etc. Yet the best thing we can do is, as you said, get our affairs in order and live our lives in the highest vibration we can muster.
I'm with ya, sistah. Hitting the brick wall sure hurts, but it does knock some sense into our heads. :hug:
In the true Cappy sense & sensibility... Hit it and then get over it! ;)
But yes, exactly
the sentence that came out of that rant that meant the most to me was
"I am going to bless the Earth I am standing on"
a-HO!
11. Word.
You have verbalized my frustration as well. I need to get my self, my family, my home in order and then my neighbors, friends and community. I and my husband are both not healthy (physically, emotionally) right now. We have to work on that to have the energy and strength for the rest.
The national stuff, the GD stuff.... it has become a great time sink, energy waster, I'm really not learning much nor am I having any effect sitting in my chair in front of the computer typing to like minded individuals who may or may not decide to argue to the death over a stupid point of difference or obsess over the attitude people are giving them because it is either not in support of their cherished political leader or is too happy to accept the status quo because it is the majority Democratic leadership and not the Republicans who are perpetuating evil. Even listening on the radio has become so tiresome. I've given up the evening tv political shows.
Meanwhile, am I creating? Am I developing as a human being getting caught up in this? Am I learning better health habits or healing techniques, have I helped someone? I was pushed to leave a position 3 years ago because of burn out and rank dissatisfaction with the Way Things Are (ie serfdom for government, corporations and banks). How am I making progress in changing that in my life? How am I learning and working towards being a free person? Where is my webring? Why haven't I gotten a group together to discuss and brainstorm this idea, being free, a new work, lifestyle, economy-- or just how to survive in this one and stay out of the traps that cause people to resent the each other and fight against (or just be apathetic) to the latest group that is under attack-- whether it be the foreclosed on, the factory workers, the engineers, the illegals, the hungry, the teachers, the women, now the Yemeni? I just received an email from my MIL filled with such hate and fear for Muslims. It was a group email (sent and forwarded to many people) that told me that Muslims want Sharia law instated in all countries to subjugate women and have a strategy to gain power in Western countries in order to force Sharia law on everyone (all I could think of was Ben Nelson and Stupak-- not exactly Muslim poster boys). I couldn't delete it fast enough. I delete all negative emails from my computer as matter of policy. I have to start living my dream, take active steps in a new way of life instead of constantly looking and commenting for evidence of the social and political disfunction that is present. I think I will be stopping the GD visits.
I do want to continue on this board though, discussions regarding astrology and wonder too, if anyone has any recommendations for websites on astrology, gardening, health, diet (I think I need to give up gluten and sugar but have no idea how to do that) etc. please post or forward under PM or email. Also, if you are interested in getting something together --webring, etc. for a new way -- you can email me at scarlettquilts@yahoo.com
Anyway, I have been thinking of this for quite some time and you have inspired me.
13. yes....100% girlfriend!
I spent most of last year getting my body and spirit in order and beginning to realize I COULD move forward again. It was hard, i have some chronic health issues as well and had to allow for that. Started taking hardcore meds to deal with the immune issues and I am still very far froim being where I want in terms of diet, exercise and overall holistic well being. Meanwhile, I am able to actually MOVE again after almost 2 years of debilitating arthritis and the depression associated with a body that was NOT happy on this planet, and being only in my late 30s and feeling like I was ancient.
But now the tides have shifted and I can actually dig in my yard and DO the work I want to do. I have found a great meditaion group and some awesome friends that will nurture and nourish my soul as well (the folks here at ASAH are part of this tribe for sure!)
That inspires me to take the next steps...feeling the shift actually UPON us....
If you need any support on a one to one level, i am here for you.
I agree that sitting here "talking" about it is less helpful than doing it. and I feel that ASAH is a great place for us to take a moment, check in, get advice and then DO IT !!! we are some serious movers & shakers here ;)
We should start another thread here about resolutions and breaking unhealthy patterns, too...
25. my 2 cents
...'I and my husband are both not healthy (physically, emotionally) right now. We have to work on that to have the energy and strength for the rest...'
If you wait till you are in perfect health you will never get anything done.
Start doing stuff now.It will help clear things up.The energy you put out into the world will be replaced by still more energy.By getting the energy flowing you will flush out a bunch of crap that is effecting(infecting?) you now.
Remember-We are the ones we have been waiting on.
5. It's about being of use
I am SOOOOO much more useful to others around me, who I can affect positively, if I am not mentally and emotionally fighting battles with things I can't control a world away. And I have FOUGHT those useless battles and will probably fall into it again, being human, but it takes away from any ability I have to actually do good around me.
8. I am SO with you on this!!!
I believe I voiced sorta-similar opinions on the thread where I expressed irritation with Obama. It's time to concentrate on our own communities and families; and on extending that family to include one's immediate community. I have to say I have felt just like this for a long time:
"The wars are stupid and nobody belongs in anyone else's country trying to "help them" or "make them behave" - just let them blow each other up till they get a clue. screw it."
In other words; you can't force enlightenment on anyone who's not ready for it. It sounds cold and harsh..and I *do* continually send light and hope that those who are in such darkness will be able to find a way out; but it's just not our job..it's theirs AND ours. It's like a drug addict..they won't be clean until they are READY to be clean. AND. The most IMPORTANT part of this whole equation:
WE CANNOT HELP ANY ONE ELSE UNTIL WE HELP OURSELVES. WE CANNOT LOVE ANYONE ELSE UNTIL WE LOVE OURSELVES WELL FIRST.
How can a wounded nation heal another; when it needs healing itself? It makes no sense for us to be so very involved elsewhere. Let's do what needs to be done here, and then we will be fully able to help those outside our borders that need help.
This is huuuuuuuuuuge pet peeve of mine. People like to say that I'm a nationalist; which in their interpretation means I'm being selfish and they want to throw me in with the "America is the greatest country in the world!!" folks. That's not at all what I'm saying. I'm saying we need to pay attention to ourselves; our country's body, if you will - and make sure that it is whole and healthy and functioning to support itself- before we go running off to 'save' another country.
Physician, heal thyself...really.
Yes; let's focus on our communities and selves. Get our houses in order. Streamline ourselves with the land and with the flow of our community trade and barter; needs and wants.
Use cash or credit union debit cards.
Speak to people in line at your local store. Make jokes; make a connection.
Shop local.
Start a backyard garden or buy goods from your local farmer's market.
Find alternative ways of healing yourself (what this group is so great for! yay!). Don't give money to big pharm unless there is no better way to heal yourself.
Etc.
Yes, you have shifted! Now it's time to load the wagon behind you.
10. Get your own house in order - astrologically doesn't that match?
I think if I am reading the collective planets for this year, it is essentially saying the same thing.
So glad I finally caught the boat! :rofl:
But really, I have been thinking the whole "leave it up to the people of THAT region/country/religion/etc..." for a LONG time, but always felt I was being callous. I agree, it is like realizing that the addict is never going to change as long as you enable. I WISH our country and leaders could get a clue in that respect. I am SO overhaving all this done "in my name" but I can;t seem to affect a REAL CHANGE of those policies either. I am thankful for those who DO march and still protest and work to lobby for Peace.
meanwhile I am gonna see what I can create right here, on my own block... it is all I am capable of at this point.
...and I'm sure it will serve me better in the long run to have a TRUE community and tribe right HERE.
just like you guys are too! :grouphug:
12. kick - for more ideas about what we can do ...
I'd love to see some of your ideas about thinking globally but acting locally...
Like my idea to REALLY make my backyard a garden for the whole neighborhood this year. I am surrounded by "college/snowboarder" types...the guys across the street are all carpenters, too.
So, think it would be good for us to ALL benefit from the bounty. I have lived on my little cul-de-sac for 2 years and this spring I am going to really work on inviting the guys to 'help the momma' and in return I will bake them bread and give them veggies...
we have also talked about having a whole street garage sale to get rid of our junk and raise money because we are all broke in some way....
Soooo....I am taking on the role of 'community organizer' and we are gonna really DO the block party this summer!
14. Well, my passion about all this is -- hopefully -- only a few weeks from...
manifestation.
What a journey this has been in trying to launch Wishadoo in its newest incarnation (the alpha site is still up, if you want to get a feel for the intention, though it shall look and function much differently at the new site. Here is the placeholder site :) : http://www.wishadoo.net .
We've been through several programmers (the site involves a database, which is above my skill level), and recently my partner's family has been going through a real crisis: her son and grandson narrowly escaped a fire and the larger family is starting from scratch, building a new life together. I posted about this, with the loss of their beloved dog, Daisy, and other pets. :(
What's interesting, in a spiritual sense, is that she finds herself immersed in the receiving of others' help, when she is used to be the one offering help.
To me, Wishadoo is all about that balance: giving and receiving, then paying it forward. It makes sense that she is living it now, before sharing our dream of Wishadoo with others.
Most of what I've worked toward for 15 years -- professionally and personally -- is tied up in Wishadoo.
In fact, nearly everything you guys have described in this thread is how I envision Wishadoo evolving. It's basically providing the space for these connections to be made...for these ideas to be shared...for personal empowerment to be experienced.
Fingers, toes and boobs crossed that it'll be ready by next month.
The new site will have the wishlist and the community area (with forum, groups, blogs, etc.) under one umbrella site, with one login. :)
I was going to wait to mention Wishadoo again when it was time to have a focus group try things out; you guys are my focus group. ;) But, this thread prompts me to mention the status of things and that I agree with everything you guys have shared and Wishadoo is my contribution to creating these conscious, compassionate communities, online and in the "real" world.
It is VERY much about recreating these Wishadoo Communities IRL. :)
:hug:
17. ...
Whenever I think I'm not patient, I remind myself to look back at these dreams I envisioned in the mid to late 90's and recognize that I never lost the passion, or belief that they have a place in my reality.
I did lose the possessive aspect and took on a "release and allow it to flow" approach, but the energetic spark never left.
I do feel I've become a patient person. :)
When I'm not, profanity helps release the tension and frustration.
;)
Warm hugs for you! :hug:
Get together everything you haven't used in the last year and have a garage sale (put the pricier items on craigslist.com). If you are friends with your neighbors, have a massive sale (and perhaps put some of the money into the local neighborhood, if there is anything everyone wants done and over with, an eyesore removal of some sort). Organize with your neighbors to purchase everyday items in bulk. Feed and clothe any local homeless persons. If none, get with your neighbors and collect clothes and other items to donate to the nearest shelter/soup kitchen (even if it's a ways away; I'm remembering that you're isolated, so much of this advice is general).
Ask your children what they most want and then ask them what you can do to make it happen. Don't forget to actually go out and do it ;)
Kill your TV. Turn up your stereo. Dance a little more. Pray for the benefit of others as much as possible.
Be at peace! :hi:
Edit: Hadn't read your post #12 before posting this...again, I leap before looking. At least I was thinking the same way!
20. Multitudes of Gratitudes (and follow the bouncing ball.)
OT but since we're shifting
I really loved my walk this morning. I went on my 7-11 coffee run (I use a ceramic mug made of local clay) and saw how the half-moon hung in midheaven just as the sun was about to rise. A few steps later and saw my neighbor raising his garage door... there's a new pool table in it. Too small to be regulation pool, but it fit nicely in his second parking spot. I thought about Christmas, and teenagers, and billiards, and looked up again and the geometry of the skies clicked. It triggered a nice, harmonious feeling about the cosmos and my place in it.
Now the sky is bright orange.. the sun's risen over the hillside.
Ten years ago we were citizens of an empire just past its peak of power and influence. Everybody we saw seemed better off than only a few years before. But we couldn't see how our way of life hurt people and laid waste to lands near and far, or how it was, we were all connected. Now we realize that our local action has global influence, which can be positive or negative. I think it was a lesson that we needed to learn and I think we learned it at the last possible minute. It clicked.
So we get to change the way we do things without waiting for outside prompting. The buds on the cherry & plum trees (which will flower in about a week or so) will pop when they're ready, but to us it's as if they flowered simultaneously. I think that our own flowering will happen in much the same, natural, way. So don't hesitate.
On another note, I'm also welcoming and grateful for what seems to be the return of my subliminal comic. I misread a headline in LBN that made me think for an instant that someone tried to ignite their hair on an airplane and as soon as I realized it wasn't the case, got a good laugh from unbidden mental images of gerry-curls being banned from flights...(there was a time in my life when nearly every one of my relatives had that hairstyle and it is very flammable).
Your description gave me a fit of giggles.
Gratitude has certainly become my key this last month or so. I have been able to sit IN gratitude and really feel it; and as a consequence I have been gifted with much abundance!
It is most certainly a multitude of gratitude to be alive at the moment. It is a challenge to find the things to be grateful for; but they are there.
was really weird...
it looks like so many things are coming apart at the seams and maybe even the people Obama thought he could trust or put next to him are really the WORST of the crooks & liars... I woinder if he is conscious of it and "keeing his enemies closer"...? or if he is in danger...
and at this point with al the shit going down on the planet...does it even matter ...?
Been working on my body this week and getting back in routine for LIFE
...and friday night is my bday party and I am going to make sure all my tribe knows they are welcome to participate in the garden project in the backyard, and that we can start having more "events" together... Stepping out and opening up my home & heart are very big efforts for me :)
24. Good post.
And reflecting what many of us are feeling.
DU has never remained 'what it used to be' but it seems anymore only the smaller forums posess anything approaching the exchange of complete, coherent ideas, sentences and thoughts that it used to. DU used to be my 'adult time' and I'm sad to see that passing.
You are right, it is time to focus within and bring forth our own blooms. Good luck with the garden! :hi:
