Splorfle! A silly bit of serendipity
Okay, we all know that our guides/angels/whoever are always around and communicate with us as long as we are listening--and that they have a sense of humor. Today's little event was so funny I just had to share:

I usually run lots of errands on Monday morning. I enjoy it because I can drive my Jeep and listen to the radio on the way (the closest major shopping area is about 25 minutes away from my home)--and of course I enjoy getting messages from my guides through the songs on the radio.

Today I turned on the radio only to hear the tail end of one of my recent favorite songs--one that is cheerful and simply makes me happy. I said out loud, "Aww, I wish I could hear it from the beginning." I kept station-surfing the entire time I was in the car, but the song didn't come on again. My guides gave me lots of other songs that I enjoy and that cheer me up, but of course I wanted to hear THAT song, right? Tchuh. Ungrateful hoomins.

I knew I could always fire it up on my iTunes when I got home, but it kinda isn't the same as getting it as a "gift" on the radio, if you know what I mean. And anyway, I got home and didn't get around to turning on iTunes, then had to pick my son up from school, so I forgot about it.

Helped him do his homework, etc., then started to make a baked pasta thingie for dinner. Opened the cupboard and--damn--realized I only had one can of diced tomatoes and I needed two; the other can looked the same but was sauce. x( I hate dragging my son out to the store when he's decompressing from school, but I had to do it, so I informed him we had to walk up to the corner store. Usually he moans and groans at having to leave off playing, so I told him we had time and didn't have to go right away, but to my surprise he said "Let's go now."

And guess what was playing when we walked into the corner store 10 minutes later. Yeah.

Too funny.

7. I forget I have them
They must be furious with me. My blinders get so tight. My focus becomes a laser. I lose my humanity. I become rote and machine. Who am I? What am I doing? Why am I here?

13. Oh, WhiteTara, I don't think that your guides would ever be furious with you.
They know that this journey that we're on is not easy. Wearing this flesh is an act of courage.

14. Oh no, WT, never furious
Our guides love us so much--we can't even fathom the depth of unconditional love in our human form here on earth. They're like the best parents anyone could ever have--no, wait, grandparents--they have cookies. Boundless love and never in a bad mood. I tend to think of them as the Brady parents on steroids.

As for those eternal questions...well, that's our mission, right? I figure the moment we figure it out--POOF! We're outta here. :)

24. An ordinary conversation works just fine
In my personal experience, I've found that just having a mental conversation is really effective. It may start out as kind of awkward and clumsy, but as I get into the groove, I actually start "hearing" the responses. And the more I do it the better the results. I heartily endorse having conversations with invisible friends!

5. This is a little crazy...
I didn't want to start a new thread because I think it relates directly to you.

I just finished working. About an hour and a half ago (3:21 PST because I checked the time of my e-mail), I sent my boss a question about work. While waiting for his response, I sneaked over here to see what was going on and saw this thread.

I had a good laugh, thinking how delightful and agreeing with IHAD and OGR that yeah, I sure would like guides with a sense of humor.

Got my answer went back to work, downloaded the audio and bam, there's an appreciation story I had to edit on Brazilian singer Elis Regina. I didn't even know she had passed until using Antonio Jobim as an example in the March Prayer thread.

I'm still reeling but I think I'm supposed to laugh because I haven't been able to find as much details as I wanted about her. Of course, Waters of March is one of the 2 songs the site links to listen to.

I have a feeling that we're gonna do some great manifesting in BonzaiBonnie's event this month.

15. Ooh, thanks for this
Listening now--I LOVE Brazilian music. Have you seen the movie Next Stop Wonderland? It's a great indie, has an amazing funny romantic story that ASAHers can appreciate (two people keep missing each other till the proper time they're supposed to be together), and has an all-Brazilian tunes soundtrack.

Oh wait. That's beside the point, isn't it? :D

YES, you're right--our manifesting is going to be something to behold. Can't wait! :bounce:

20. What?? I've never even heard of it!
I just wiki'ed and see it stars Philip Seymour Hoffman - I love that guy. I have to find it now for this weekend. Thanks, MG!

I really feel a quickening of creation about to happen and the need to be in a more structured flow of mindfulness. Here we go :bounce:

It's one of my all-time favorite movies! I own it and the soundtrack CD--it's one of those movies where I get a little inkling "It's time for a Next Stop Wonderland viewing!" at least once or twice a year! :)

P.S. Philip Seymour Hoffman is a local boy--I'm thrilled he's been so successful!

8. GREAT story!
I love love love when my Guides do stuff like this. I was hoping to hear from a friend of mine and I asked my guides to send me a song from a band he likes (The Cure) as a signal that he was okay. After a day or so, I didn't hear one Cure song but then as I was driving to the bank, a car pulled in front of me and on the back bumper was a sticker for the band. It just said "The Cure" and I had to laugh. My guides love to be creative with me.

I always take these as my signals. There are no coincidences, right? :-)

16. Good one!
We never know how we're going to get our message, but we always do--if we're paying attention!

Your story reminds me of the scene in Richard Bach's Illusions, when Donald tries to teach him about manifestation. Richard decides to be ornery and asks for a blue feather. He looks around, expecting an ACTUAL blue feather, but it shows up as a picture on a milk carton--Blue Feather milk.

27. One more.
Hours ago, my husband came home from work this morning whistling tunes from "Meet Me in St. Louis," turns on the TV and guess what's on. You guessed it, on TCM. Then he says all frustrated, "I wish I could develop my psychic powers." I got the clear message that this was the power in action and it is connection to the Stream.

So I says, may be this is not about knocking on the door of opportunity for more, but stepping through the door and get your heart's desire. So he says I'll think about it.

A few minutes ago, he got a call for a work contract he'd given up on! Talk about getting our financial house in order.

Could it be that when these serendipitous events happen that is when we have literally stepped into the stream?

I'm so happy though I'm gut wrenched about the banning of our sister. I can't stand contrast sometimes!

28. I like that one too
Definitely stepping into the stream, IMO--the more we do it, the more we get used to it, and the more we're able to do.

When I was younger and a Beatlemaniac in the extreme, I used to stun my friends repeatedly by "tuning in" to the stream--exclaiming "Beatle check!" and turning on the radio. There was a Beatles song on every time. Now that I look back on it, I consider that "training". :)
