The Aquarians of the world. Are you really robots...?!?! |
|
Well, after last year being full of heartache and loss (thought I'd found "the one") I am once again dating and found a GREAT guy I adore. Problem is...
He's an Aquarius (with a Leo moon).
I'm a Leo with an Aries moon. I need passion. I can't date a robot. Everything I read about Aquarians (he's my first) says that they basically are robot people with no feelings.
Is it true...? Share your tales of joy or woe.
Well, at least we have compatible Venus (me in Libra, him in Aquarius...)

1. My first boyfriend was an Aquarius. |

Firstly, let me post (so one of the others doesn't have to) the standard disclaimer that a chart is much more than Sun sign alone, and so is astro compatibility. I should also post that I think relationships are much more than astrology (really...no, really).
But since you asked about the relevance of his Sun...while for the most part I think solar Aquarians are overrated for being absent or too detached, ("robot" is a little harsh, but not too far off in most cases) one of the hallmarks of Aquarius energy is indifference. In my own life, it's a rare Aquarian who can stay invested in anything past a certain point--well, unless it's the one thing Aquarians care about which is their "group," whatever that may be.
About Aquarians and group relationships/friendships--you do know you will always take a backseat to his friends, right? Or whomever he considers his created kinship group to be? Are you okay with that? If not, I don't think an Aquarian is for you. To Aquarians, friendship groups are everything. In many Aquarians' lives, friends were the lifesaving replacement for the biological families they either didn't have or didn't receive adequate nurturing from. My ex and I didn't break up because of his somewhat taciturn nature, we broke up because I (accidentally) insulted one of his friends from another state. Once.
I really don't think you should make the decision about this guy on the basis of his Sun/Moon/Venus sign alone (or on the basis of astrology alone.) Still, if that's the criteria you're using at this point, the problem I see here is his Sun/Moon opposition. His primary personality is the opposite of his emotional personality and those two parts of his life will always be in conflict. This can indicate a lot of imbalance, even chaos in a person's life. I think the Aquarian Sun/Leo Moon opp is one of the more challenging opposition combos. Aquarian unpredictability (even craziness) "tempered" by Leo exhibitionism. Can equal major drama queen--think Paris Hilton, who is also an Aquarian Sun/Leo Moon.

2. Wow, this is an education! |
|
Get this- I am an Aquarian and so's my hubby! Things aren't great between us now, but I was just thinking today about the truth of the distance you speak of, and how I can see how it is true..., and now after reading this, I am also turning the mirror on myself as well. But I give thanks for another learning experience.

However, (and maybe this is due to the Leo moon) he voluntarily spends much more time with me than with friends, and claims to have few "true" friends. I think that is one Aquarian trait that is less prominent in him.
MY main concern is his ability to love deeply and express it. As a Leo, (hell, as a human being) I can't stand the thought of loving someone that can't express himself.
So far, his affections have been expressed by things he does for me, compliments and lots of petting. :) Guess I can't complain...

10. You know, I know that Aquarians are supposed to be indfferent to the |
|
individual and passionate about the group but that really doesn't apply to me. IN fact, I am fairly antisocial. I don't really like people. I think that the generalisations are just that- generalisations.

Aquarians are not robots. They are aloof and distant for many reasons. THe rest of the chart shows the details. You cannot go by the Sun sign. They are merely afraid of being locked down. Literally.
Great great people, usually. Good luck. :hi:

My Mom was an Aquarian, married over 50 yrs. to my Dad who was a Pisces. They ended up with one little ole Cappie (me). She was the warmest, sweet spirited and loyal person I've ever known. (most loyal to her husband and immediate family) but still a loyal friend to her clubs and Church groups. If you were her friend, you were her friend for life. Lord how I miss that woman!!

Yeah, I dig him.
I am also encouraged by his Leo Moon (mine's Aries), Venus in Aquarius (mine's Libra), etc. Our charts are actually nicely aspected overall, except for the Sun/Sun opposition.
And he HAS shared tales from his past of long-term relationships where he was deeply in love, and deeply saddened when things ended.
So...we shall see! I appreciate your positive slant (Leo that I am). :)

One of my favorite sites says that Aqu. Sun + Leo Moon is deeply emotional, usually desires marriage, warm and affactionate and sensitive.
Hope that's true...

But emotional? That would be nice too, is all. I keep reading that Aquarians are completely unemotional, or unwilling to verbally express emotion.
I'm greedy and want it ALL!!! :)

11. The guy I married was a Libra. |
|
He was logical, fair and balanced, but also a lot of fun without being dangerous. I messed with Scorpios, Capricorns and Geminis before. There was always something not quite right. I don't know about Aquarians but I feel we wouldn't have been compatible either. However, this is your life and you will find the right sign. You will know when things go right. Incidentally, my sign and Libras are not supposed to be compatible.

MY tale of woe is having married scorpio. Prob. with him appears to be not related (?) to his scorpio-ness, as my Dad is one, and he's the best person in the world!

Aquarians have the ability to stand back from their feelings, that doesn't mean they have no feelings. That Leo Moon will show emotion in spades, and the Aquarius Sun will be able to talk about it (check Mercury as well). I know a triple Aquarius, all he does is talk about it, his Scorpio wife loves him dearly, and Scorpios are known for demanding emotional connection.
As for his friends/groups, I think it was Debbie Kempton-Smith who said Aquarians love humanity, but people not so much. Aquarians know everybody, but don't assume that he has many friends. At his best, an Aquarius Sun/Leo Moon is generous and kind, thinking the best of everyone and wanting the best for the world. At his worst he may think little enough of himself that he tries to tear others down, he may also forget everything (and everybody) but his most pressing concerns.
I'm a Cancer Sun with Aquarius Moon. I wish I had more robot in me (I tend to pine for the women who got away).

He shared feelings with me last night. He said, "I like having you in my arms" and was very sweet and well, romantic. :)
I think that Leo moon isn't hurting any... ;)
But yes, I can see that Aquarians have emotions--they just keep them fairly well buried for later inspection, I think.
