Let me know if the link doesn't go directly to the web cam. It should. Also check Facebook for Phoebe Allen and link there.

1. 4700 viewers watching a nest the size of a golf ball
and eggs the size of tic-tacs.

And Ms. Phoebe Allens is just adorable.

5. I love hummingbirds!
I saved one, once when I was in the Army. He'd flown into the mess hall and some idiot Sgt was trying to shoo him out by batting at him with a broom. I made him stop and collected the poor little thing in my hand. He had became so week he could no longer fly and was just sitting there panting. I bought some Hawaiian Punch, fed it to him and off he flew. They are really beautiful close up - with feathers that have a metallic sheen. Thanks for sharing!

9. I only learned about it recently and have been thoroughly captivated.
I love to plant things that attract them. There are a couple of the thousand of salvias (black & blue) that they love.

Mexican sage I and they also love.

The hummingbirds bedazzle me every summer. I love their erratic flight patterns and can totally relate.

Not all of us are linear.

That site is a hoot & a half.

11. We've been attracting them, too. But it's
with a feeder that's hung between a lot of plants. Lot's of excitement here when they start showing up, soon I think. I love the way they patiently give each other turns at the feeder. Just adorable. Thanks for the tip of plants that attract them.

14. High drama in and around the nest last eve.
The commentary was hysterically funny.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLUWoQ5NmT0

After the incident, Phoebe left the nest but has just recently returned.

In her absence, people were saying she's gone to talk to Oprah about the ordeal. Then they were saying tomorrow she's be on Leno, then Letterman, then Ellen.

Then a sentimentalist said, isn't anyone going to think about the trauma to all of the children. . .?

16. From what I gather from the multitudinous punditry,
It had poked a hole in the egg and then ceased to do so after endless hours of people thinking they saw feathers and such.

Then the lizard arrived on the scene.

According to the experts, a mother bird will not tend to an egg that is non viable.

So it goes.

:loveya:

Let's calm the children. Okay. . .?
