Does anyone pick up anything on the midterm elections? Maybe this is just wishful thinking but I don't think it will be anywhere near as bad for Democrats as the Republicans and the corporate media paint it. There may be a loss of a few house seats and maybe two Senate seats but fundamentally, no real change in power.
What do you get?

I haven't done a real meditation on this in more than a month, but the last time I did, I got that we would not lose our majorities, though it may be closer in the Senate.
That doesn't mean I think the Democrats will have it easy, though. I actually feel this is going to be a bad, bad year for the party (already is in many ways) and the president. Which is kind of why I think the midterms will go okay for the Dems--those of us who actually do the volunteer work in campaign offices will be energized by the attacks from the rightwing, and so will other voters. It also helps that the Republicans have nothing to offer.

2. Funny enough I feel the same. |

In spite of all the hyperbole about losing seats, I'm not feeling that it's going to happen in a big way. I think we might also pick up seats from places we would least expect because the voters are beginning to see what's going on with their congress people and not liking what they see. I see Michelle Bachmann gone. Her constituents are beginning to see her for the wack job that she is. I believe there will be a larger turnout for the primaries nationwide than expected too.

is so off-course it's a wonder she has any supporters left.
Edit to add: I think most people are beginning to see the truth about what President Obama is trying to accomplish, in spite of what they're being told by the media and GOP.
