Does anyone know what I saw?

A few weeks ago I was standing out on our balcony and between our garage and the house the limbs of a huge maple hang down a bit. I saw this bright real white light blink on at the edge of the limbs..the light was about 4-5 inches long and about an inch wide. It flashed on then off then flashed again two different times when it got into the leaves then it went up over the roof of the house and flashed again and was gone.

Then again about a week ago I saw the same light but it only flashed on once and was gone. I've never seen a light like that before. It was way to bright, white and big for a lightning bug. Can anyone help me out here?

source of light, like light possibly bouncing off the leaves in the tree.

It sounds like this light flashed on and off....for sure, very strange. I think that ghost sightings usually deal with light, but they are more steady, like a wisp of light by a person's head, and then it grows. That kind of thing.

I did some searching to try and direct you to some good threads in the Meeting Room, but I couldn't find anything.

That's where we used to hang out. You could try searching there. Keep an eye on this spot and see if it appears again. Do you have a digital camera?

2. Whatever it was, it moved through the tree and

up over my roof like it was a flying insect, only it was way too large. It was too dark to see any outline between the flashes of light. It definitely wasn't a reflection of anything on the leaves. This also wasn't a wisp of a light, it was a solid light more like a flashlight light would be. I'm 63 yrs old and have never seen anything like it before. I have a digital but I wouldn't be able to get a photo because I wouldn't be able to time it with the light's flash. Also, I have no idea if I'll ever see it again, I rather doubt it. Just wondered if anyone would have any idea of what it was.

3. My husband and I both saw a similar light

It was not in the trees outside but inside the house in the basement. It seemed to go straight through the wall to the outside of the house. We never knew what it was but were awestruck and grateful that each of us saw the same thing (that way neither of us could accuse the other of imagining things). Interesting.

4. I recently witnessed a bright orange light

in my garage while in there in the dark. It was right after I had been thinking that I hadn't "felt" my grandmother in a while, so I assumed it was she, telling me that she was indeed still present.

Strangely enough, in just the past couple of weeks several things in my garage have started to fall off of shelves for no apparent reason and one of our cat carriers kept way high up was hanging open. We just lost two pets this summer, a cat and a dog. I wondered if perhaps they were up to mischief in the garage, although it was not a place in which either of them spent any time while of this plane.
