SUBJECT – Katrina effects next 6 months

10) X The Wheel of Fortune – Success, unexpected turn of good luck, change of fortune for the better, new conditions. Creative evolution within the laws of chance. Fate smiles and your luck changes for the better. Better conditions and better opportunities for gain arise through pure chance.

11) XII The Hanged Man (R) – Arrogance, preoccupation with the ego, resistance to spiritual influences. Absorption in physical matters. Wasted effort. False prophecy. Avoid selfishness and blindly following the thoughtless crowd with its self-serving opinions. Try to understand another’s feelings. Preoccupation with oneself can lead to wasted efforts.

14) Four of Swords – Hermit’s repose. Rest after war. Banishment. Relaxation of anxiety, release from suffering. There will soon be a change for the better. Not a card of death. This card indicates the need for meditation. Take time out to give your mind a much-needed rest form the noise of everyday life. Replenish you inner strength and end your weariness by taking time to sort things out alone.

15) Eight of Swords – Narrow or restricted surroundings. Bondage. Imprisonment through indecision. Betrayal. Fear to move out of a situation. Temporary sickness. A crisis imposes restraints and limitations. Someone cannot see their way through a situation that may cause a loss of prestige or suffering. A decision now could mean freedom. Take care in all matters of health and business and avoid any binding agreements.

1. It's going to take more than six months to reverse the damage

of Katrina both material and spiritual, so the cards are speaking the truth to you. I think the obstructionists are well defined in your reading and we know who they are. In other words it will be a big struggle to overcome this because there isn't much help being offered from where it should come from, the federal government. BushCo are really waiting for the initial anger and shock to die down and then they will get their agenda back on track ignoring the aftermath of the hurricane. Since you weren't asking directly about them, not much was offered.

8. Seems like a good spread

I think what it's saying is that there will for sure be hard times and times where we want to give up etc. and the Bush gang will probably play mind games with us etc like they always do to save their own asses. This is the time where we have to figure out whom we can trust. It seems to me that even though this will be a struggle we will as a country be victorious and those who wish us evil and negativity will go down. Maybe this is the event that I felt last November. Because I felt this huge event will make Bush go down. It had to be something the whole country can rally around and will open their eyes to. At first I thought it was Valerie Plame/Wilson, but maybe it's this. I don't know, but we're already seeing people trying to work against the Bush agenda.

Katrina’s damage and the political response was a huge shock to most Americans and the psychological damage will be great, will cause attitudes to change. Eyes are opened to realities, solutions are demanded, progression. Fear of change is an obstacle to be surmounted with knowledge and empathy. I think the last card shows that the struggle and especially the social effects will continue far into the future. (well, that's a given).
